Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the temperature of a lamp from rising by forming a slit for heat radiation in a lamp cover. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal panel 1 and a light guide plate unit 4 are supported by frame bodies 7a and 7b and further the unit 4 is fixed to the frame body 7b by a reverse cover 6 with, for example, a screw 8. A reflector 5 is fitted to a lamp unit 2 itself or light guide plate unit 4 while covering the lamp unit 2. The lamp unit 2 is protected and fixed by the lamp cover 10 provided with the slit 9 while supported on the frame body 7b. The slit 9 is a through hole which can radiate heat, and the lamp unit 2 is only protected to maintain sufficient strength of the cover 10 itself and actualize a small light leak. The heat generated by the lamp is radiated from the slit 9 for heat radiation formed in the lamp cover 10 to prevent the temperature of the lamp from rising, thereby obtaining an image with high luminance at all times.

ット2を覆っているため、熱がこもりやすい状態になっ
ている。さらに、こもった熱がランプ自体の温度を上昇
させている。ランプの温度と輝度との関係を図に示すと
図5に示すようになる。この図5からもわかるように、
40℃ぐらいまでランプの周囲温度に対して輝度が上昇
しているが、40℃以上になると、周囲温度上昇に対し
て輝度が下がる特性がある。ランプが点灯している時
は、実際50℃以上ぐらいになるため、常時高輝度に保
持することができないという問題があった。本発明は上
述の従来例の問題を解決することを課題とするものであ
る。
