Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize molding and machining facilities by extensively arranging multiple hollow extruded materials extrusion-molded with a light metal material in the longitudinal direction of a body, and arranging the extruded materials having the same shape symmetrically on the right and left across the center of the body when they are connected by welding. SOLUTION: Hollow extruded materials 2-6 are extensively arranged in the longitudinal direction of a body and welded together to form the floor section 1 of the body frame of an automobile. The extruded materials 2-6 are molded with two kinds of dies so that the extruded materials 2, 6 and the extruded materials 3, 5 have symmetrical cross sectional shapes respectively, i.e., the extruded materials 2, 6 and the extruded materials 3, 5 are molded with the same dies respectively. They are inverted and symmetrically arranged across the extruded material 4, and they are connected by welding to form a floor section 1. The types of the extruded materials can be decreased, molding and machining facilities can be miniaturized, and the manufacturing cost can be reduced.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, in a vehicle body structure of an automobile, for example, in a monocoque body, a plurality of plate materials are press-molded and joined together to form a box structure to secure the rigidity of the floor portion of the vehicle body. On the other hand, demands for weight reduction of the vehicle body and reduction of manufacturing costs are increasing,
A long hollow material extruded from a light metal material such as aluminum with a constant cross-sectional shape allows the cross-sectional shape to be set relatively freely, and also allows the thickness in the horizontal and vertical directions to be different from each other. Since it can be molded, desired strength characteristics according to the site of use can be obtained with high efficiency, so that attention is recently being focused on its use as a frame constituent material for automobiles.

However, in the case of pressing a plate material, not only the processing and welding equipment for the press material becomes large as in the case of the monocoque body, but the light metal described above has a linear thermal expansion as compared with the steel material. Since the rate is high, heat distortion is likely to occur during welding, and it was difficult to ensure its accuracy.

It is also conceivable to extend a plurality of hollow extruded materials extruded from a light metal material in the front-rear direction of the vehicle body and weld-connect them to each other, but in consideration of the arrangement of other equipment, each extruded material is extruded. Since the materials have to have different cross-sectional shapes and many molds are required, the manufacturing cost increases at present.

FIG. 1 shows a floor portion 1 of a vehicle body frame of an automobile to which the present invention is applied. This vehicle body frame is a space frame composed of a resin inner plate and a frame formed by welding together pipe-shaped hollow members extruded from a light metal material such as aluminum, and is used for rigidity, strength, and collision performance. It has a body structure that uses a highly efficient and straight frame.

FIG. 2 shows the floor part 1 of the frame according to the invention.
2 is a plan view showing the structure of FIG. 3, and FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view taken along line III-III of FIG. The floor portion 1 is formed by arranging five hollow extruded materials 2 to 6 so as to extend in the front-rear direction of the vehicle body (left-right direction in FIG. 2) and welding them. The side sills 2a and 6a are formed integrally with the extruded materials 2 and 6, respectively.

Here, the extruded material 2 and the extruded material 6, and the extruded material 3 and the extruded material 5 have symmetrical cross-sectional shapes. That is, these five extruded materials 2 to 6 can be molded by three types of molds. The extruded material 2 and the extruded material 6, and the extruded material 3 and the extruded material 5 are molded from the same mold, respectively, and the floor parts 1 are formed by inverting them and arranging them symmetrically with respect to the extruded material 4 and connecting them. are doing. Also,
On the inner side surfaces of the extruded materials 2 and 6 and on both side surfaces of the extruded materials 3 to 5, elastically engaging portions 8 for accurately aligning with the adjacent extruded materials during welding and for facilitating temporary holding and holding are integrally formed. (FIGS. 4 (a) and 4 (b)). Therefore, the positioning accuracy and the welding workability are improved by positioning the extruded materials 2 to 6 temporarily with the elastic engagement portion 8 by positioning in the front-rear direction during welding. It should be noted that the floor portion 1 has a cutout portion 1 for receiving a wheel house (left and right rear wheels) on the left and right ends thereof.
Although a and 1b are provided, in practice, it can be easily formed by simply making the extruded materials 2 and 6 shorter than the other extruded materials 3 to 5 at the time of molding, and does not require additional secondary processing. , Work efficiency and material utilization efficiency have been improved.

As shown in FIG. 2, the extruded material 5 has bolts 9
A curtain rail 1c is formed as a cap for receiving the. With such a configuration, the forming of the die, which has been one of the most troublesome operations in the conventional extruded material, can be performed simultaneously with extrusion forming and welding. A vertical rib 1d is provided at the center of the curtain rail 1c. This simplifies the structure as compared with the case where vertical ribs are provided on the left and right of the curtain rail 1c, reduces the weight, and does not reduce the rigidity.

As described above, according to the present invention, a plurality of hollow extruded materials extruded from a lightweight light metal material are arranged so as to extend in the front-rear direction of the vehicle body, and have a structure in which they are connected by welding. By arranging and welding the extruded materials having the same shape symmetrically with respect to the center of the vehicle body, the types of the extruded materials can be reduced, the molding and processing equipment can be downsized, and the cost can be reduced. Further, by providing elastic engagement pieces on the side surfaces of the extruded materials for the purpose of temporarily temporarily adjoining the extruded materials, the positional accuracy and the welding workability at the time of welding are improved.
