Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a loading surface being excellent in good appearance with no hindrance to material handling operations by facilitating the manufacture of a tail gate in a car rear body equipped with a tail gate lifter, and reducing the extent of manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: A tail gate is composed of plural pieces of aluminum extruded shape panels 7. Each of fitting parts 7a and 7b is installed in the opposed side edges of these tail gate constituting panels 7 being adjacent with in front and in the rear, getting these elements fitted in each other. Two horizontal walls 13 and 25 being superposed on each other up and down at the upper side are installed in both these fitting parts 7a and 7b, and two connecting pin inserting hole forming grooves 17 and 28 extending in the longitudinal direction are opposedly installed in both these horizontal walls 13 and 25. A connecting pin 33 is fitted tight in a connecting pin inserting hole 31 formed by two grooves 17 and 28. Subsequently both lower end edges 16a and 27 of the opposed side edges of both the panels 7 are welded together.

According to the above invention, the fitting portions respectively provided on the opposite side edge portions of the front and rear adjacent tailgate constituting panels are fitted to each other, and both fitting portions are superposed on each other on the upper side thereof. There are horizontal walls to be fitted together, and these horizontal walls are provided with connecting pin fitting hole forming grooves extending in the lengthwise direction so as to face each other, and the connecting pin fitting holes formed by these grooves are formed. Since the connecting pins are tightly fitted in and the lower edges of the opposite side edges of both panels are welded to each other, the upper sides of the fitting portions of both panels are connected by the connecting pins, and The lower edges of the side edges can be welded together, thus facilitating the restraint of the panel for welding work. Further, the welding cost is halved as compared with the conventional device, so that the manufacturing cost is significantly reduced. Further, unlike the conventional device, since the welding bead does not rise on the upper surface of the tailgate, that is, the joint between the panels on the loading surface, the cargo handling work can be easily performed, and the tailgate excellent in aesthetic appearance can be obtained.

The connecting pin (33) made of a relatively short stainless steel parallel pin or taper pin is tightly fitted into the left and right ends of the connecting pin fitting hole (31), whereby the front and rear side panels are joined together. The upper parts of the opposite side edges in (7) are connected to each other. At this time, the upper horizontal wall (13) of the front panel (7) and the upper second horizontal wall (25) of the rear panel (7) each try to deform vertically, but the upper horizontal wall (13) of the front panel (7) is deformed. Above the horizontal wall (13) is the upper first horizontal wall (22) of the rear panel (7).
Since the intermediate convex portion (15) of the front panel (7) exists below the upper second horizontal wall (25) of (7), these upper first horizontal wall (2)
The deformation is prevented by 2) and the intermediate convex portion (15), and the connection by the connecting pin (33) is favorably performed. In addition, the upper first
Regarding the horizontal wall (22) and the intermediate convex portion (15), the upper horizontal wall (13) of the front panel (7) and the upper second horizontal wall (25) of the rear panel (7) should not be deformed when the pins are fitted. It can be appropriately changed as long as it can be prevented. For example, the upper first horizontal wall (22) may be longer than that shown in FIG. Good. Similarly, the intermediate convex portion (15) may be entirely constituted by one wall. Although the connecting pin (33) and the connecting pin fitting hole (31) shown in the drawing have a circular cross section, these shapes are not limited to those shown in the drawing, and may be, for example, a rectangular cross section. In addition to the above-mentioned connecting pin (33), a parallel pin that is loosely fitted into the connecting pin fitting hole (31) may be fitted in an intermediate portion of the length of the connecting pin fitting hole (31). Bonding strength increases. In addition,
Applying the connection with the connecting pin (33) to the connection between the lower parts of the opposite side edges of the front and rear panels (7) also
Although theoretically possible, such a configuration is considered to be impractical because rattling easily occurs due to dimensional accuracy and the bonding strength may be insufficient.

Next, the front end (16a) of the lower horizontal wall (16) of the front panel (7) and the step (27) of the lower wall (23) of the rear panel (7) are joined, for example, by arc welding or the like. To join. At this time, since the upper parts of the opposite side edges of the front and rear panels (7) are already connected by the connecting pins (33) as described above, the panels (7) are restrained to perform the welding work. It's very easy to keep. From the viewpoint of joint strength, it is most preferable to perform welding over the entire length of the panel (7), but considering the combination with the connecting pin (33) and the usage conditions, etc., only partial welding is possible. Even if it does, the required strength can be obtained. Weld beads (33) are located on the front panel (7) at the tip (16a) of the lower horizontal wall (16) and at the rear panel.
Since most of the weld bead placement groove (32) formed between the lower wall (23) and the step (27) of the lower wall (23) is accommodated, it is located below the lower surface of the panel (7). Is only slightly protruding. Also, in the lower part of the opposite side edge of the front and rear both-side panels (7), the lower side of the lower wall part (23a) on the front side of the lower horizontal wall (26) and the step (27) of the rear panel (7). Since the lower horizontal wall (16) of the front panel (7) is overlapped with each other and a large amount of overlap margin is provided, the bending strength of the same part is strengthened by this.

Further, the shape of the opposite side edge portion of the panel (7) is not necessarily limited to that shown in the figure, and in short, the upper side thereof can be connected by the connecting pin and the lower end edges thereof can be welded. If it is one, the present invention can be applied.

According to the connecting device for the tailgate-constituting panels in the vehicle bed having the tailgate lifter of the present invention, the fitting portions provided on the opposite side edge portions of the panels adjacent to each other in the front and rear direction are fitted to each other. Since the lower ends of the opposite side edges of both panels can be welded together after connecting the upper sides of the panels with the connecting pin, the panels can be easily restrained for the welding work.
