Since the silver chloride film on the surface of the electrode body 3 is partially removed by dynamic pressure and the silver surface of the underlying silver chloride is exposed, the intrinsic potential of the electrode body 3 fluctuates in the base potential direction, resulting in an error in the measured value. Was occurring.

However, this is not enough to prevent the silver chloride film on the surface of the electrode body 3 from partially falling off, and as described above, the intrinsic potential of the electrode body 3 fluctuates in the base potential direction, resulting in an error in the measured value. Therefore, it was necessary to separately prepare a power source and flow a weak current to the electrode body 3.

Since the liquid contact surface of the electrode body is covered with an insulating lid having a large number of openings, the flow of seawater on the surface of the electrode body inside the lid is gentler than that on the outer surface of the lid, and thus chloride Since it is possible to prevent the silver film from falling off, it is possible to stably maintain the intrinsic potential of the electrode body without separately preparing a power source as in the conventional case. This stable holding state of the intrinsic potential is also shown in the graph of FIG.
