Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the waterproofness of a potentiometer without using a magnetic transmission mechanism. SOLUTION: An input shaft 14c of a potentiometer 14 is coupled with the shaft hole of a pulley shaft 18, and the input shaft 14c and the pulley shaft 18 are friction-coupled by an elastic waterproof member 30 fitted into the shaft hole. When a wire 38 is extracted, a wire pulley 20 is rotated, the rotation of the wire pulley 20 is transmitted to the input shaft 14c via the pulley shaft 18, and the potentiometer 14 output a change signal of a resistance value corresponding to a rotation quantity of the wire pulley 20. The waterproofness of the potentiometer 14 is attained by an elastic waterproof member 30 sealing the gap between the outer peripheral face of the input shaft 14c and the inner peripheral face of the shaft hole of the pulley shaft 18 and a waterproof member 24 sealing the connection section of the upper end of the pulley shaft 18 and the upper end of the tubular section 20a of the wire pulley 20.

However, the indirect transmission of the displacement amount using the magnetic force is not preferable in terms of accuracy, and if possible, there is a configuration in which the member rotated by pulling out the wire is directly connected to the input shaft of the potentiometer. desirable. However, since waterproofing is difficult with a mechanical transmission mechanism, the waterproof type had to use an indirect transmission mechanism by magnetic force. An object of the present invention is to provide a waterproof type length measuring device, that is, a wire potentiometer, which employs a mechanical transmission mechanism.

Since the present invention is constructed as described above, the potentiometer can be waterproofed and the input shaft of the potentiometer and the wire pulley are directly connected to each other, so that the length measurement can be performed with higher accuracy than in the case of magnetic transmission or gear transmission. Is possible. Further, even if the wire pulleys rotate beyond the rotation range of the input shaft of the potentiometer, the connecting portions of the wire slips, so that the potentiometer is not damaged.
