PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter type discharge lamp lighting system for light modulation, capable of reducing harmonic input current in the light modulation of a discharge lamp by arranging a device which converts commercial power source into DC voltage, applies the DC voltage to a plurality of luminaires, and varies DC output voltage. SOLUTION: A DC voltage variable device 2 containing an active filter smoothing circuit rectifies a commercial power source 1 into DC voltage, applies the DC voltage to inverter-type luminaires 3, 4, 5, and a discharge lamp is lit. By varying DC output variable resistance 21 inside the DC voltage variable device 2, the discharge lamps of the luminaires 3, 4, 5 are light-modulated. Input current substantially sine wave containing almost no harmonic components flows in the power source 1 by using the active filter smoothing circuit. Thus, an inverter-type discharge lamp-lighting system for light modulation capable of reducing harmonic input current can be obtained.

【発明の詳細な説明】 【産業上の利用分野】本発明は、調光時に、高調波入力
電流を低減した調光用インバータ式放電灯照明装置に関
する。 【従来の技術】従来この種照明装置は、第2図に示すよ
うに電源と放電灯照明器具との間に調光器を組込み、調
光器により電源電圧の位相を制御することにより、放電
灯の調光を行ってきた。 【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかし、このような調
光方法では、電源電圧の位相を制御して調光するため、
電源に流れる電流の高調波の含有率が高く、他の電子機
器などに悪影響を与える。 【課題を解決するための手段】調光時に高調波含有率の
少ない入力電流にするため、放電灯点灯装置はアクティ
ブフィルタ平滑回路とし、調光は、このアクティブフィ
ルタ平滑回路の直流出力電圧を制御する可変抵抗を変化
させることにより行う。 【作用】商用電源を、アクティブフィルタ平滑回路を含
む直流電圧可変装置で整流し、これを電源として複数個
のインバータ式放電灯照明装置と接続する。通常点灯時
は、アクティブフィルタの動作により商用電源には、ほ
ぼ正弦波の入力電源が流れる。調光は、直流電圧可変装
置の出力電圧可変抵抗を可変することにより、直流出力
が可変しこの電圧の大きさにより各放電灯の出力が可変
し、調光できる。調光は、直流出力の可変で行うため、
商用電源の入力電流は、ほぼ正弦波で高調波を含まな
い。 【実施例】第1図は本発明の実施例である。商用電源1
が投入されると、アクティブフィルタ平滑回路を含む直
流電圧可変装置2により整流された直流電圧が各インバ
ータ式照明器具3・4および5に印加され、放電灯は点
灯する。次に直流電圧可変装置内の直流出力可変抵抗2
