Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection cover type endoscope apparatus with which light distribution is improved without enlarging the outer diameter of an endoscope. SOLUTION: This apparatus is constituted so as to combine a main body 11 of the endoscope provided with an illuminating optical system 12 and a protection cover 15 which is provided with a transparent member 17 and covers one part of main body 11 of the endoscope at least. In this case, concerning parallel beams emitted from the outer-most peripheral part of a light guide bundle 13 of the illuminating optical system 12, when the height of beams on a face S3 of the transparent member 17 closest to the side of an object is defined as (h) and the shortest distance between an outer peripheral face 18 of the transparent member 17 and a central axis (b) of the light guide bundle 13 is defined as (r), the condition of h<r is satisfied.

2. Description of the Related Art Among endoscope devices used for observing and treating the inside of a human body, a so-called protective cover type endoscope device has been conventionally proposed. This is because a protective cover that can cover the insertion part and the tip forming part to be inserted into the human body is attached to the endoscope main body, and when body fluid or the like adheres due to use,
The used protective cover is replaced with a clean protective cover, and the used protective cover is discarded to save the trouble of cleaning and disinfecting.

In order to prevent unnecessary light from the illumination optical system from invading the observation optical system and causing ghost and flare, Japanese Patent Laid-Open Nos. Hei 3-221024 and Hei 7-1.
According to Japanese Patent No. 13962, is a transparent member provided on the front end surface of the protective cover provided with a light shielding member on the transparent member so as to separate a portion facing the illumination optical system and a portion facing the observation optical system? Alternatively, it has been proposed that a light-shielding wall is provided on the distal end surface of the endoscope main body so as to separate the illumination optical system and the observation optical system.

However, in the above conventional technique, the illumination light for illuminating the peripheral portion of the visual field is vignetted by the outer peripheral surface of the transparent member and the light shielding member, and the light distribution is deteriorated. Therefore, if the area of the transparent member is increased in order to prevent the illumination light from being vignetted, there is a problem in that the area of the front end surface of the protective cover is increased and the outer diameter of the endoscope is increased.

Light from a light source (not shown) is focused by the lens system 79 via the light guide bundle 78 and is located between the transparent member side surface of the lens system 79 and the lens system side surface of the transparent member 77. Intersect with each other, diverge and transmit through the transparent member 77 to illuminate a subject (not shown). At this time, a part of the light is incident on the outer peripheral surface 7F of the transparent member 77, but since the outer peripheral surface 7F is formed as an optical surface, it is emitted to the subject side of the transparent member 77 without being scattered by the outer peripheral surface 7F. Illuminate. Therefore, the loss of the illumination light amount is small. The surface of the transparent member 77 that is joined to the outer peripheral surface 7F may be formed as an optical surface, or both the outer peripheral surface 7F of the transparent member and the surface that is joined to the outer peripheral surface 7F may be formed as an optical surface. Good. [Fifth Embodiment] FIG. 8 is a cross-sectional view of a portion of a transparent member of a fifth embodiment of a protective cover type endoscope apparatus of the present invention which faces an illumination optical system. Except for the transparent member, it is the same as that of the fourth embodiment and will not be described. The transparent member 81 facing the illumination optical system is made of two kinds of materials having different refractive indexes,
The refractive index of the material of the peripheral portion 82 is n 1 , and the peripheral portion 82 is
Since n 1 <n 2 (2) is satisfied when the refractive index of the material of the central portion 83 surrounded by is n 2 , the light that is about to enter the outer peripheral surface 84 of the transparent member 81 is of two types. It is totally reflected by the boundary surface 85 of the material,
The transparent member 81 is emitted to the subject side to illuminate the subject. Therefore, the loss of the amount of illumination light is small. The transparent member in Embodiments 2 and 3 may be made of a material having a refractive index distribution. In that case, since the transparent member may be formed on both planes, the transparent member can be easily manufactured. Further, the transparent member may be a diffractive element. Furthermore, although the case where the protective cover according to the present invention is combined with the direct-viewing endoscope main body has been described above, it may be combined with the side-viewing endoscope main body or the oblique-viewing endoscope main body.
