Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform irreducible necessary operation in video recording/reproduction mode by driving the video recording and reproducing means of a monitor terminal even when a communication between the monitor terminal and a center monitor station is impossible. SOLUTION: The monitor terminal 10 is installed at an unmanned police box distant from the center monitor station 20. When a sensor 11 installed at its entrance operates, a central processing part 2 sends a connection request to the center monitor station 20 by using a packet switching transmitting and receiving means 8. The center monitor station 20 when receiving the sensor information from the monitor terminal 10 judges whether or not a voice and image communication is needed and calls the monitor terminal 10. Then the state of the monitor terminal 10 is remotely monitored by the voice and image communication. When the voice and image communication is impossible, an image reproduction start command is sent to the monitor terminal 10. The monitor terminal 10 drives the video recording means 9 and reproducing means 12 and displays previously video-recorded information on a thing left behind, etc., to visitors. Consequently, even when the communication between the monitor terminal and center monitor station is impossible, the irreducible necessary operation can be carried out in the video recording/reproduction mode of the monitor terminal.

2. Description of the Related Art In a conventional remote monitoring apparatus, packet communication, means for performing communication via a public network,
Digital communication and analog telephone network communication were used. Further, when communication is performed using a plurality of communication means, the communication means and the types of information transmitted and received by the communication means are determined in advance. Further, based on such communication means, the monitoring terminal has always transmitted voice and image data to the monitoring station on the center side in accordance with an instruction from the monitoring station on the center side.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a block diagram of a remote monitoring apparatus showing an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a flow chart explaining the operation of the remote monitoring apparatus showing an embodiment of the present invention. The configuration of a remote monitoring terminal device according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. This remote monitoring terminal device comprises a monitoring terminal 10 for monitoring the installed situation and a center-side monitoring station 20 for monitoring the voice and image data transferred from the monitoring terminal 10. The monitoring terminal 10 includes a communication system selecting unit 1 for selecting a circuit switching unit or a packet switching unit, and an R for storing input data from the communication system selecting unit 1.
AM 13, ROM 14 in which a program for controlling this monitoring terminal 10 is stored, central processing unit 2 which operates based on the program stored in this ROM 14, recording means for recording voice and image data 9, a reproducing means 12 for reproducing the data recorded by the recording means 9, a sensor 11 for detecting a visitor or an emergency, a communication system selecting means 1
It comprises an automatic communication switching means 3 for switching the communication means in accordance with an input instruction from, a circuit switching transmission / reception means 4, and a packet switching transmission / reception means 8. Center side monitoring station 20
The monitoring terminal 10 has basically the same configuration as the monitoring terminal 10 except for the recording means 9 and the reproducing means 12, but each function is performed depending on the contents of the program stored in the ROM 14. Then, the monitoring terminal 10 and the center-side monitoring station 20 transfer voice and image data via the I / F control unit of ISDN. The operation will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2. When the monitoring terminal 10 is installed in an unmanned police box away from the center-side monitoring station 20, when a visitor comes in to the police box to visit a forgotten item, it is installed at the entrance. The visitor sensor is activated, and the sensor information is sent to the monitoring terminal 10. When the monitoring terminal 10 receives the sensor information, it uses the packet switching transmission / reception means 8 to make a connection request with the center side monitoring station 20. When the center-side monitoring station 20 receives the sensor information from the monitoring terminal 10 (step 1), the sensor information is checked to see if it requires voice and image communication (step 2). Here, when there is such a request from the monitoring terminal 10, the monitoring terminal 10
Call processing is performed in order to switch the circuit (step 3). When information capable of voice / image communication is sent from the monitoring terminal 10 (step 4), remote monitoring by voice and image is performed (step 5). If the voice / image communication is impossible for some reason, the center side monitoring station 20 uses the packet exchange transmitting / receiving means 8 to send a command for instructing the monitoring terminal 10 to start recording / playback (step 6). . When the monitoring terminal 10 receives this command (step 7), the recording means 9 and the reproducing means 12 shown in FIG. 1 are driven, so that the above-mentioned visitor receives information from the center side monitoring station 20. Even if it is not necessary, since the information of the forgotten item is output from the reproduction means 12 which is recorded in advance, it is possible to provide the minimum necessary information even if the police box is unattended.
