ある。しかも、長期使用により荷重の集中する枢軸部に
摩耗が発生し、天窓の開閉不良が生じるという問題もあ
った。このような問題を解消するために、ラックピニオ
ン機構により天窓の開閉を行う装置も提案されている
が、ラックピニオン機構の場合、一連の駆動用の軸パイ
プを天窓下方に吊架し、該軸パイプによりピニオンを駆
動し、ピニオンと噛合するラックを摺動させて、ラック
の一端に枢着される天窓を開閉するようにしている。こ
のため、各天窓に対応する各ラックピニオン機構のラッ
クの歯とピニオンの歯の噛合する位置が一致していない
と、多数の天窓の開閉に不都合が生じるため、ラックの
歯とピニオンの歯との噛合位置合わせが必ず必要となっ
た。しかし、ラックとピニオンを一体式のケースに収納
しているため、噛合位置合わせは極めて難しく多くの人
手と時間がかかるという問題があった。
