Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To spread and house a projection screen by easy operation and to prevent the contamination or the damage of a projection surface while the screen is kept or carried by loosely folding and housing a flexible projection sheet inside a housing which can be opened/closed. SOLUTION: The front surface part of the housing 10 whose six sides are closed is nearly equally divided to form a pair of doors 11 and 12, and turnably connected with a back surface housing 13 constituting the other part of the housing 10 on the opposed end sides of an aperture part on the front side of the housing 13 through a connecting means such as a hinge 14. The opposed end sides of a reflection type or transmission type nearly rectangular projection sheet 20 are linked with the vicinity of the end side on the opening side of a pair of doors 11 and 12, and the sheet 20 is spread or housed by opening/ closing the doors 11 and 12. By such constitution, the screen has a long sideways shape at the time of housing as well as at the time of spreading even when the housing 13 is used in a fixed state, and extra space as large as area necessary to open/ close the doors is only required as a set space.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to an image projected on a projection surface by projecting image light from an image projector such as a projector, a slide projector, an overhead projector, a video projector, a laser beam projector, and a shadow projector. The present invention relates to a projection screen for observing images, and more particularly to a projection screen suitable for portable use in a bright room together with a small-sized portable video projector.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as a projection screen for projecting and observing an image from an image projector such as a projector, there has been one fixed to a building such as a projection screen in a movie theater. However, as a material that can be moved and used in a meeting room or the like as necessary, there is, for example, a material whose surface is a light-reflecting flat plate. However, since this is a large plate-like object, the work of moving is complicated, and since the projection surface is always exposed, dust or dirt adheres to the surface during storage and contaminates during movement. There is also a problem that the surface is easily damaged by colliding with an article or the like. For this reason, there was a vinyl cover that covers the whole from the top, but the work of putting a rigid vinyl cover on the projection screen, which is a large upright plate-like body, is extremely complicated and poor in workability. there were.

On the other hand, a roll-up type in which a flexible projection sheet is wound around a round bar-shaped core and is housed in a cylindrical casing having an opening for pulling out the projection sheet in the longitudinal direction of the side surface. There was a projection screen. However, also in this case, in order to give a certain tension to the projection sheet when it is unfolded, the projection sheet is always under tension in the direction in which it is wound into the housing, and it is tightly wound when stored, so there are no winding steps or curl. Occasionally, it may distort the projection surface, and when using it, it is extremely complicated to assemble it with a special stand prepared separately and deploy it, or conversely, to remove it from the special stand and store it, and when moving it, the cylindrical shape Since it is necessary to carry two long objects, both the housing and the dedicated stand, there is also a problem that portability is extremely poor.

In view of the above problems, the present inventors have already solved the problem by forming a flexible projection sheet inside a case that can be opened and closed by loosely folding and storing it. We have succeeded in developing a projection screen having a mechanism in which the projection sheet is developed in a flat shape by opening the body (see Japanese Patent Application No. 8-33194). This is a case in which a projection sheet is loosely folded into two folds or the like and housed inside a rectangular parallelepiped-like housing whose upper and lower surface portions can be opened and closed. The projection sheet having both edges joined together in the vicinity of the open end of is developed in a plane shape, and the work of unfolding and storing is extremely simple as described above, and at the time of storing, it is substantially Since it fits in a box shape with a volume of about half, it does not take up storage space, and small things such as tabletops can be used for portable use, and have many excellent points.

However, the inventors of the present invention have conducted the trial manufacture and the practical application test of the projection screen having the above-mentioned structure, and have found that the following problems occur. In other words, such projection screens are small for portable or tabletop use, but for large-sized installation screens, those with a structure that fixes the back part and open the top and bottom parts or left and right parts are easy to use. In the case of a transmissive type projector in which a video projector is incorporated, the work of moving a heavy video projector is extremely complicated, and therefore it is indispensable to fix the above-mentioned back portion.

However, in the above-mentioned structure, in order to minimize the volume at the time of storage, it is advantageous to widen the upper and lower surface portions or the left and right surface portions and narrow the rear surface portion. The whole is a vertically long type with a narrow width and a deep depth when stored, and an opposite horizontal type when deployed, and it is necessary to secure an installation space corresponding to both, so the effect of saving the installation space as a result Has a problem that it cannot be obtained very effectively.

Further, in the case of a transmissive type in which a video projector is incorporated in the rear portion, if the width of the rear portion is narrowed, it becomes difficult to assemble the video projector, and the image projected from the video projector is difficult. However, there is a problem in that the area of the image is limited due to the obstacle of the joining member between the back surface portion and the upper and lower sides or the left and right surface portions.

In the projection screen of the present invention, for example, as shown in FIG. 1, the entire surface of the casing 10 having six sides closed is divided substantially evenly to form a pair of doors 11 and 12. The rear housing 13 forming the other part of the rear housing 13 is rotatably connected to the rear housing 13 via the connecting means such as the hinge 14 at the opposite edges of the opening on the entire surface thereof. Then, the pair of doors 11,

With the projection screen of the present invention having such a configuration, even if the rear housing 13 is fixed and used,
It has the same oblong shape as when it is stored and when it is unfolded, and the installation space can be saved because it requires only an extra area for opening and closing the door. Further, since the housing 10 is basically horizontally long, the area of the back surface portion can be made large, so that the image light is projected from the opening / closing opening (not shown) provided in the substantially central portion of the back surface housing 13. Alternatively, the rear housing 13 and the door 1 can also be used as a transmissive configuration in which a video projector (not shown) is incorporated in the rear housing 13.
Since the connecting portion that rotatably connects 1 and 12 and the connecting member such as the hinge 14 provided therein do not hinder the projection of image light, the housing 10 is relatively small. Even if there is, it is possible to project a large area image.

It should be noted that the doors 11 and 12 and the projection sheet 20 are connected to each other via a connecting member 21 having elastic elasticity such as elastic body such as rubber or elastic structure such as spring, and A configuration in which the length between the connecting portions of the opposite edges of the projection sheet 20 including the connecting member 21 is shorter than the distance between the connecting portions of the doors 11 and 12 when the housing 10 is opened. This is suitable because tension can be applied to the projection sheet 20 when the projection sheet 20 is developed, and the projection sheet 20 can be held in a flat state without distortion.

Further, the door 1 is provided with the elastic connecting member 21 for connecting the doors 11 and 12 and the projection sheet 20.
The edges of the connecting portions 1 and 12 on the side of the connecting portion and the edges of the projection sheet 20 on the side of the connecting portion are connected near both ends thereof, and
The distance between the joints near the both ends of the door 11 and 12 on the joint side is longer than the distance between the joints near the two ends of the projection sheet 20 on the joint side. With this configuration, the projection sheet 20 is tensioned in the width direction when the projection sheet 20 is unfolded.
This is preferable because it can be properly held in a planar shape without causing warping in the width direction.

In the above example, description has been made assuming that the doors 11 and 12 open to the left and right, but this may be a structure that opens up and down, and any opening / closing direction can be selected.
Further, the parts forming the doors 11 and 12 are not limited to the entire surface of the housing 10, and for example, a connecting part may be provided in the middle part of the side surface as shown in FIG. A connecting portion may be provided at the boundary between the back surface portion and the side surface portion. With such a configuration, even if the dimensions of the housing 10 are the same, the distance between the joint portions of the projection sheet 20 at the time of unfolding can be increased, and in the case of the transmissive type, Since it is possible to reduce the obstacle to the image light at the connecting portion, it is possible to project an image having a larger area, which is very suitable.

From the above point, it is more effective if the doors 11 and 12 and the side housing 15 are opened and closed sequentially as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, for example. Further, comparing the configuration shown in FIG. 5 and the configuration shown in FIG. 6, when the doors 11 and 12 and the side housing 15 are sequentially opened to deploy the projection sheet 20,
The side case 15 is located outside the doors 11 and 12, and the configuration of FIG. 6 is superior, which does not hinder the development of the projection sheet 20 and the projection of an image from the rear side in the case of a transmissive type. .

As a method of opening and closing the doors 11 and 12,
In addition to the above-mentioned outward-opening type, inward-opening type, sliding sliding door type, telescopic type, folding door type as shown in FIG. A flexible door type that moves on a curved path such as a die (FIG. 8 is a diagram showing a state in the middle of deployment), or the like, in which the doors 11 and 12 are stored in the housing 10 at the time of opening. Although conceivable, these configurations do not contribute to an increase in the development area of the projection sheet 20, and are not so preferable. However, for example, when the door cannot be opened to the outside due to the installation space, it can be preferably used.

In order to further increase the projected area in the development in a small case, there is also a method in which the case 10 has a mechanism capable of expanding and contracting, as shown in FIG. 9, for example. The example shown in FIG. 9 is provided with a mechanism in which both side surface housings 15 slide in opposite directions with respect to the rear surface housing 13 and expand as shown in FIG. 10 to substantially widen the width of the back surface. As compared with the example shown in FIG. 1, the length of the projection surface in the developing direction can be increased by the distance that the side surface housing 15 slides. Conversely, if the area of the projection surface is the same, the housing 10 can be made smaller accordingly.

The mechanism for expanding and contracting the casing 10 is as follows.
In addition to the slide type, an accordion type, a pantograph type, an elastic body such as rubber, or the like can be used. Further, as shown in FIG. 11, it is also possible to provide a mechanism capable of expanding and contracting on the side surface housing 15 and the doors 11 and 12 to further increase the projection area or downsize the housing 10. Further, for example, as shown in FIG. 12, when the doors 11 and 12 are opened, the housing 1 is opened.
Even if the housing 10 is housed in 0, if the housing 10 is configured to be greatly expanded and contracted by, for example, a multistage slide mechanism, a space in which the doors 11 and 12 project to the front of the housing 10 at the time of deployment. Even when it is difficult to secure the above, it is possible to store and deploy the large-area projection sheet 20 in the small housing 10.

As described above, when the housing 10 is configured to be expandable and contractible, a mechanism for opening and closing the doors 11 and 12 is not always necessary. For example, as shown in FIG. 13 (FIG. 14 when unfolded), the housing is opened. The body 10 is divided into two side surface housings 15 at a substantially central portion, and the housing 10 is opened and closed by slidingly expanding and contracting using a multi-stage type rear housing 13 embedded in the back surface portion. The projection sheet 20 may be unfolded and stored.

As described in detail above, the projection screen of the present invention is formed by a flexible projection sheet which is loosely folded and accommodated in an openable housing to open the housing. In the projection screen for projecting and observing an image of a projector or the like, which is provided with a mechanism for unfolding the projection sheet in a planar shape, the front surface of the casing having a substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape is divided substantially evenly. By forming a pair of doors that open in opposite directions, and the projection sheet is expanded by opening the doors, the projection sheet can be expanded and stored by a simple operation. It is possible to prevent the projection surface from being contaminated or damaged during movement, it does not cause deformation of the projection surface such as winding steps or curl, and it is easy to move and is excellent in portability, and the back part is fixed. Even when used, when stored Other capable difference in shape on the plane and during deployment is small, thus saving the installation space,
For a transmissive type that projects an image from the back side,
Since the area of the rear surface is large and there is little obstruction to the image light at the connecting portion between the rear housing and the door, it is possible to project a larger area image. Further, since the housing is provided with a mechanism capable of expanding and contracting, the housing can be made very small compared to the area of the projection surface, which is convenient for storage and movement and is portable. Also, it has a number of excellent effects such as being extremely suitable.

In the above example, description has been made assuming that the doors 11 and 12 open to the left and right, but this may be a structure that opens up and down, and any opening / closing direction can be selected.
Further, the parts constituting the doors 11 and 12 are not limited to only the front part of the housing 10, and, for example, as shown in FIG. 3, a connecting part may be provided in the middle part of the side face, or as shown in FIG.
