樹脂製の分離爪に対しては、トナーの付着を防止する為
に種々の加工が施されている。例えば、実開昭60−2
1755号公報の「定着装置」には、分離爪基体の少な
くともトナ−像支持材案内面となる側に離型性の良い耐
熱性材料からなる被覆を施し、該被覆の厚みを分離爪先
端部に近いほど厚くした技術が開示されている。また、
特開昭62−157074号公報の「複写機用分離爪」
には、分離爪の母材樹脂の表面との親和性が大きい極性
基を有するフッ素化合物によって分離爪を被覆した技術
が開示されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】上記のように加熱ロー
ラから、未定着トナ−を付着した転写紙を引きはがすた
めに樹脂製の分離爪が必要とされているが、分離爪に対
してもトナ−は付着し、これにより分離不良及び画像汚
れを起し易いため、分離爪の適所には離型性を高める為
のフッ素樹脂コ−ティングが施されている。従来のフッ
素樹脂の被覆方法は、液体のフッ素樹脂を爪の適所に吹
き付けたり、コーティングしているが、この方法で被覆
されたフッ素樹脂層の表面には凹凸が多く、離型性は良
くない。このため、従来は、フッ素樹脂の融点である3
80℃以上に加熱して一旦溶融させることにより、表面
を滑らかにしていた。しかし、フッ素樹脂を焼成する際
に、380度程度に加熱を行うと、分離爪の母材である
樹脂が変形するおそれあり、分離爪の変形を防止する為
に、焼成温度を高くすることができず、低い温度でフッ
素樹脂を焼成せざるを得なかった。このため、フッ素樹
脂層表面が滑らかになりきれず、トナ−が付着しやすか
った。また、耐熱性を有した樹脂によって分離爪を形成
する方法もあるが、耐熱性樹脂は周知のように高価であ
る為、各社共に、採用に踏み切れないのが実情である。
本発明は上記に鑑みてなされたものであり、分離爪表面
に形成するフッ素樹脂層を、高温焼成することなく形成
し、更にコストダウンを実現できる定着装置の分離爪を
提供することを目的としている。

う。プライマーを用いてフッ素樹脂シート(チューブ状
のものを含む)を分離爪に接着した場合には、そのまま
でも使用可能であるが、電気炉等に於いて加熱してフッ
素樹脂シートを熱収縮させることにより、接着力を安定
化させることができる。
