Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modular connector which opens and closes with only insertion and extraction of a plug and effectively prevents the inflow or accumulation of dusts, by processing a specified structure of a door, in a prescribed constitution of a modular connector. SOLUTION: This is a modular connector 100 which has an opening 131 roughly in the shape of an reversed T consisting of a rectangular part for receiving its mating plug and a recessed part indented from the rectangular part and positioned right above the rectangular part and has an engaging part to engage with the plug inserted, lying in position corresponding to the vicinity of the boarder between the rectangular part of the opening 131 and the recessed part besides being in the position sequestered for a specified distance from the opening 131. This connector 100 is equipped with a double door provided two leaves 140 and 150 consisting of rectangular parts 142 and 152, respectively, to cover half each of the rectangular section of the opening 131 and projecting parts 143 and 153, respectively, to cover half each of the recessed part of the opening 131, in the shape of halving the opening 131 right and left, and the rectangular parts 142 and 152 cover the vicinity of the inlet, and the projections 143 and 153 are erected in the positions secluded to the vicinity of the engaging part.

This modular connector is suitable when it is fitted with the plug on the telephone side, but when the telephone is removed, dust accumulates in the opening and the connection is made when the telephone is reconnected. It may cause a defect. In order to avoid this, a modular connector having a dustproof cover at the opening is considered (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 63-348).

The modular connector 10 has a substantially convex opening 12 (see FIG. 8 for the shape of the opening) surrounded by the housing 11, and a dustproof cover 20 is provided near the entrance of the opening 12. Is provided. In this cover 20, when the lever 20c is lifted up, the two plates 20a and 20b are overlapped in two stages,
Further, the whole is lifted up, the opening 12 is opened, and a plug (not shown) can be inserted into the opening 12.

Although a two-stage stacking type slide cover is illustrated here, in addition to this, a slide type cover made of one plate and a cover made of one plate are placed in front of this. A cover is also considered in which the cover is slid and stored in the housing after being lifted. However, these covers have a problem that a human needs to open the cover when connecting the plugs, and the operation is troublesome.

FIG. 8 is a perspective view of a modular connector provided with a cover that does not require human opening / closing operation (the above-mentioned,
See Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 4-115769, etc.). The modular connector 30 has a housing 31 formed with a substantially convex opening 32 (upside down in the figure), and the cover 40 is located at a position slightly retracted from the opening 32. Has a structure to be inserted.

The shaft 41 of the cover 40 is rotatably fitted in the groove 33 of the housing 31, and when a plug (not shown) is not inserted in the opening 32 by the action of the spring 42, the The opening 32 is positioned so as to close the opening 32.
When the plug is inserted into the plug, it is pushed by the plug and rotates about the shaft 41, and the plug is inserted into the opening 32 as it is.

In the case of the cover 40 shown in FIG. 8, the cover 40 is automatically set to the closed state and the open state in response to the plug insertion / removal, thereby eliminating the above-mentioned troublesome operation. However, in the case of this cover 40, it is necessary to form the groove 33, and although not shown, the engaging portion that engages with the inserted plug has the opening 3
Due to the fact that it is formed in a position slightly recessed from 2, the cover 40 has to be arranged in a position recessed from the entrance of the opening 32 as shown in FIG. There is a problem of being defenseless. The cover 40 covers only the large rectangular portion of the substantially convex opening 32.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The modular connector of the present invention which achieves the above object receives a mating plug.
It has a substantially convex opening consisting of a rectangular portion and a protruding portion protruding from the rectangular portion at the center of the upper portion of the rectangular portion, and the rectangular portion of the opening and the protruding portion at a position recessed from the opening by a predetermined distance. At the position near the boundary,
In a modular connector having an engaging portion that engages with a received plug, a rectangular portion that covers a half of a rectangular portion of the opening and a half of a protruding portion of the opening, which has a shape in which the opening is divided into right and left when viewed from the plug insertion direction. The door is provided with two doors of double-sided door, and the rectangular portion of the door covers the vicinity of the opening entrance, and the protruding portion of the door is erected at a position retracted to the vicinity of the engaging portion. It is characterized by being

The modular connector of the present invention has a double-opening door, and since the rectangular portions of the two double-opening doors are provided in the vicinity of the opening entrance, the rectangular portion occupying substantially most of the opening. Is covered in the vicinity of the entrance to prevent dust from entering. Further, since the protruding portion of the door is erected at a position retracted to the vicinity of the engaging portion, it can be opened and closed without problems even if most of the opening is covered as described above, impairing the function of the engaging portion. It is also prevented.

Further, according to the modular connector of the present invention, since the protruding portion of the door is located at the back of the opening, the protruding portion of the opening is conspicuous when the opening is seen from the insertion direction of the plug, and the modular connector It is possible to avoid the situation where the posture is clearly understood and the plug is damaged by trying to insert it upside down, for example. It should be noted that it is not related to the modular connector having a substantially convex opening like the present invention, but it is known that the opening of the connector is provided with a double door (see Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 63-134480). However, the door disclosed therein is simply a double door, and as in the present invention, it has an engaging part in the deep part of the opening, and it is already standard and its position is arbitrary. It is not applicable to modular connectors that cannot be moved to.

In FIG. 5, the springs 147 and 157 are shown in the shape in which the doors 140 and 150 are open. When the plug 200 is inserted into the modular connector 100, both shoulder portions 2 of the arm portion 201 of the plug 200 are inserted.
01a and 201b (see FIG. 3) are fitted to the inner side of the engaging portion 125 (see FIGS. 4 and 6) of the modular connector, so that the modular connector is completely fitted with a click feeling. When pulling out the plug 200 from the modular connector 100, the arm portion 201 is pushed toward the body side of the plug 200 (that is, the arm 201 of the plug 200 and the body portion are sandwiched by fingers).
Engaging portion 125 of modular connector 100 and plug 200
The arm 200 is disengaged from the shoulders 201a and 201b, and the plug 200 can be pulled out as it is. When the plug 200 is pulled out, the double doors are closed.

As described above, according to the modular connector of the present invention, since the rectangular portion of the opening is located in the vicinity of the entrance of the opening, most of the opening is covered with the entrance and the opening is closed. Inflow and accumulation of dust are prevented. Further, since the protruding portion of the door is erected at a position retracted to the vicinity of the engaging portion at the recessed position, the function of engaging with the plug is prevented from being impaired. As described above, according to the present invention, a modular connector that is opened and closed only by inserting and removing a plug and in which dust inflow and accumulation are effectively prevented is configured.
