Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight of the reader by making the weight of an outer package and a case frame light and integrating them different from a heavy weight of a conventional reader because a metal is used for the frame or the like. SOLUTION: A roll 4 is provided between a contact glass 1 and a contact image sensor 2. A push-up spring 6 is used to press the contact image sensor 2 onto the contact glass 1 to keep the distance between the contact glass 1 and the contact image sensor 2 constant so as to eliminate the need for stiffness for a case frame 14. Since no stiffness is required for the case frame 14, the contact glass 1 is supported with the case frame 14 made of a formed resin forming as an outer package component to make the weight of the reader light.

2. Description of the Related Art Many book readers adopt a differential mirror system using a CCD as an optical device. Since the differential mirror method folds the optical path, there is little margin in the operating range for the deviation of the optical path due to the deviation of the reflection angle. For this reason, in the reading apparatus adopting the differential mirror method, a metal plate is used to give rigidity to the frame and eliminate distortion.

Also, when a contact type sensor is used, the focal length is short, so there is little margin for deviation of the focal length, and it is necessary to keep the distance between the contact glass and the sensor accurately constant. The distortion of the frame was eliminated by using a metal plate or the like to give the frame rigidity.

On the other hand, in the reading device (reference number 9401281) filed on May 31, 1994, a contact image sensor is provided by inserting a roller on the lower surface of the contact glass, and the contact image sensor is pushed up by a spring to make contact. The reader is made smaller and lighter by pressing the glass to keep the distance between the contact glass and the contact image sensor constant without being affected by the distortion of the housing. There still remains the problem of reducing the overall weight of the reading device by making the housing frame lighter.

In the reading device, for example, a roller is provided on the lower surface of the contact glass to provide a contact image sensor, and the contact image sensor is pushed up by a pressing portion such as a spring to press the contact glass. Thereby, the distance between the contact glass and the contact image sensor is kept constant without being affected by the distortion of the housing.

Furthermore, since the distance between the contact glass and the contact image sensor is kept constant without being affected by the distortion of the housing, for example, in a housing frame made of a resin molded product which is not high in rigidity, but is light. Hold the contact glass and lighten the reader. Here, as the resin, it is preferable to use, for example, a resin that is less charged so as not to generate noise.

1 is a side sectional view of a reader according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a front sectional view of the reader. As shown in the figure, the reading device includes a contact glass 1 on which a document is placed, a contact image sensor 2, and a contact image sensor 2.
Brackets 3 for holding the contact-type image sensor 2 on both sides, rollers 4 rotatably mounted on the brackets 3 on both sides, a traveling body 5 mounted with the contact-type image sensor 2 and traveling in the sub-scanning direction, and the bracket 3 are pushed up. Push-up spring 6, shaft 7 around which push-up spring 6 is wound, lead shaft 9 that freely penetrates into guide hole 8 provided at the bottom of traveling body 5, traveling body 5
The projecting arms 10, the rails 11 for guiding the projecting arms 10, the drive motor 13 for supplying the driving force to the traveling body 5 via the wires 12, and the housing frame 14 made of a resin molded product.

The contact image sensor 2 is pushed up by the push-up spring 6 via the bracket 3 as shown in the front sectional view of FIG. 3 and the perspective view of FIG. Further, the distance between the bracket 3 holding the contact image sensor 2 and the contact glass 1 is prevented from becoming less than a certain value by the rollers 4. At the time of reading the original, the traveling body 5 is moved by being guided by the lead shaft 9 and the rail 11 by the driving force from the drive motor 13, and the contact image sensor 2 mounted on the traveling body 5 is attached to the lower surface of the contact glass 1. Move in parallel and scan the original. Even if the rail 11 or the like is distorted, the contact sensor 2 is pushed up by the push-up spring 6, so that the distance from the contact glass 1 can be kept constant.

Since the distance between the contact type image sensor 2 and the contact glass 1 is always kept constant, the focus of the contact type image sensor 2 does not deviate, and it is not necessary to increase the rigidity of the housing frame 14. Therefore, the housing frame 14 is integrally molded with a resin lighter than metal to reduce the weight of the reading device. In addition, as the resin forming the housing frame 14,
For example, there is an ACS resin which is less charged.

Further, by molding the casing frame 14 for holding the contact glass 1 as an exterior component, the component tense of the entire device is reduced, and the weight and size are further reduced.

At the time of assembling the reading apparatus, the reading apparatus attaches the rail 11 to the housing frame 14 from the upper side of the housing frame 14 as shown in FIG.
The traveling body 5 can be attached from the upper side of the housing frame 14, and then the contact-type image sensor 2 and the contact glass 1 can be sequentially attached from the upper side of the housing frame 14 so that all the components are stacked from above.
Since it is possible to attach the components to each other, it is possible to reduce the cost of the assembling work by simplifying the assembling work of each component and reducing the assembling man-hour.
