Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the charge for outdoor radio communication by assigning the same telephone number to plural pocket telephone terminals and setting use priorities to these terminals and setting positions in order from the highest priority. CONSTITUTION: When tour terminal machines 11a to 11d are registered in one home host machine at the time of the outdoor use of the system, one telephone number for public base station is assigned to ID numbers AA to DD of terminal machines 11a to 11d, and their priorities are registered in a PHS exchange 13. When one of terminals 1a to 1d calls public base stations 12a to 12n, the exchange 13 permits line connection to base stations 12a to 12n independently of priorities unless another terminal is speaking to them. When position registration is requested to base stations 12a to 12n from one terminal machine, position registration is permitted unless positions of terminal machines having higher priorities are registered. If a call comes from a general telephone network 14 when terminal machines 11a and 11d request the position registration, the call is terminated by the terminal machine 11a having the higher priority. It is terminated by the exchange 13.

2. Description of the Related Art Mobile phones have been steadily increasing in popularity due to the liberalization of terminals in April 1994. In addition, the analog NTT system and the improved AMPS system used in the United States and Canada are small zone systems. TACS (Tot
In addition to the al access communication system), services have been started and the digital 800 MHz band and 1.5 GHz band have been activated. In addition, since October 1993, a practical test of a personal handy phone system (PHS) called a simple mobile phone system has been conducted.
The system for home and office has already been approved, and the product has actually been released. Furthermore, the approval of a system that uses public base stations is coming soon.

An authorization number and an ID are given to each of these mobile phone terminals (hereinafter referred to as terminals),
A telephone number is assigned to this ID on a one-to-one basis by contracting with a line carrier. By making this contract, a basic telephone charge is charged for each terminal. Thus, P
HS home and office system terminals can be sent and received with a wired line telephone number indoors (home, office) by contracting with a line operator (can be received and sent as a so-called digital cordless phone handset) Also, when going out, it becomes possible to make and receive a call from a public base station using a telephone number of a wireless line (a telephone number contracted with a line carrier).

Here, at home and office, a plurality of terminals can be connected to one wired line, and when making a call, only the terminal that has made a call operation with the highest priority can make a call. When an incoming call arrives, multiple terminals simultaneously ring the incoming call bell, and any terminal can answer the call. This is exactly the same as a conventional analog cordless phone. On the other hand, with respect to the public base station, since one terminal has one telephone number, it is possible to make and receive calls at all times. However, for incoming calls, the public base station side must recognize that there is a destination terminal device within the range covered by itself, so the terminal device needs to perform location registration with the public base station. . Generally, this location registration is automatically performed by the terminal, so that the user need not be aware of it.

When the PHS is used outdoors, two states coexist as shown in FIG. The state is a state in which wireless communication is performed between the outdoor base station 6 (6a, 6b), which is a public base station, and the terminals 2f, 2g. The outdoor base stations 6a and 6b connect to the PST via the connection point 4 with the fixed network.
It is connected to a public communication network 3 such as N / ISDN. In addition, the state is such that the wireless communication is performed between the outdoor base station 6 (6c, 6d) and the terminal 2h, 2i that are connected to the wireless communication device 7b for wireless communication with the wireless communication device 7a by wire. In a state of making a call. The wireless communication equipment 7a is connected to a public communication network 3 such as PSTN / ISDN via a connection point 4 with a fixed network.

When directly talking between PHS terminals,
As shown in FIG. 6, the wireless communication is performed between the terminals 2j and 2k. Here, the indoor base station 1 and the outdoor base station 6 can talk independently. Further, it is possible only between terminals belonging to the same indoor base station 1. Incidentally, each of the above-mentioned terminals 2a to 2k is provided with a certification number and an ID, and a telephone number is contracted and assigned to this ID on a one-to-one basis with the line operator. By making this contract, the basic telephone charge is charged for each of the terminals 2a to 2k.

As described above, each terminal is provided with a certification number and an ID, and a telephone number can be assigned to the terminal by contracting with the line operator for each ID. Allotted, which enables wireless communication by taking out the contracted terminal to the outside. On the other hand, since these terminals are convenient to carry and can be used outdoors, the number of terminals used will increase, and one terminal is expected to become widespread in the near future. However, if there are multiple terminals in the home or office (if there are multiple slaves paired with the so-called digital cordless telephone), it is possible to take this terminal outdoors and send / receive to / from the public base station. In order to do so, it is necessary to make a contract with the line carrier for the number of terminals taken out (for example, terminals 2f to 2f shown in FIG. 5).
2i must contract with the line operator to obtain a phone number). Therefore, as the number of terminals that can send and receive to and from the public base station increases, the basic telephone charges will be required for the number of terminals, which causes a problem that the charges for outdoor wireless calls become high. It was

An object of the present invention is to assign the same telephone number to a plurality of mobile telephone terminals, set priority use (call) priority for the terminals, and register the location by the mobile telephone terminal having a higher priority use priority. By doing so, even if the number of terminals increases, the same telephone number is assigned to them, so even if the number of terminals that can receive and make calls with the public base station increases, the outdoor It is an object of the present invention to provide a mobile phone system in which the charge required for a wireless call does not become expensive.

On the other hand, for the public base stations 12a-12n,
If there is a location registration request from any one of the terminals 11, the terminal having a lower priority is assigned according to the priority of the terminal described above unless a terminal having a higher priority has already registered the location. You can also register the location on the machine. After this, if a terminal with a higher priority performs location registration, the previous location registration performed with a terminal with a lower priority is re-registered. If you try to register the location while another terminal is talking, the registration will be rejected.
After the call ends, the location of the terminal having a higher priority than the terminal during the call can be registered.

As shown in FIG. 2, when both the location registration of the terminal 11a and the location registration d of the terminal 11d are requested, if there is an incoming call from the general telephone network 14, the terminal having a higher priority is given. The call arrives at 11a. This judgment is made by the PHS exchange 13. At this time, when the terminal device 11a is turned off or the connection is switched to the home master device 10, only the terminal device 11d makes the location registration request.

As described above, the portable telephone system of the present invention assigns the same telephone number to a plurality of portable telephone terminals, and sets the priority use (call) order to the terminals to give a higher priority use order. Even if the number of terminals increases, the same telephone number is added to these by registering the location using a mobile phone terminal with a high cost, which increases the number of terminals that can receive and make calls with public base stations. Also has the effect that the cost required for outdoor wireless calls does not become high in proportion to the number of units, and the basic telephone charges required for this are saved because no phone numbers are assigned to infrequently used mobile phone terminals. Moreover, since the number of calls made to the same telephone number can be increased, the efficiency of the mobile telephone system can be improved.
