PURPOSE:To use two kinds of batteries different in shape in the battery mounting device for a battery exchange type IC memory card in which a memory IC and a memory back-up battery (hereafter referred to as a cell) are built. CONSTITUTION:The battery mounting device is equipped with a battery holder 17 which is formed with a battery mounting section 16 capable of mounting a dissimilar battery 15 in a non-standard shape, and can be detachably mounted to a battery housing section 11 capable of mounting a battery with a cell closure 10 in a standard shape. By this constitution, a battery in a standard shape is mounted on the battery housing section 11, and a dissimilar cell 15 can be mounted on the battery mounting section 16 of the battery holder 17 fitted in the battery housing section of the battery closure 10.
