Most commonly, medical information includes basic information needed for emergency procedures, such as blood type, drug-induced allergies, closest relatives, and medications being taken. Conventionally, various blank-filled cards, tags, labels and the like have been used. They can be stored in a wallet, worn as a bracelet or necklace, combined with shoes or other accessories, or combined with or attached to an individual. These conventional devices have met with limited success for a variety of reasons. One drawback of these conventional devices is that they have a limited amount of information that is convenient to record and carry. Secondly, since the information is recorded by Jintsu, the individual himself, and is rarely medically trained, errors and / or errors are likely to occur. Therefore, medical information must first be obtained from a doctor or trained health care professional. Just letting this information out to the individual can cause errors. Not all of the more relevant information is recorded for the same reason. This is because some individuals cannot be identified or recognized. There are also problems finding this information when needed. The location of the data must first be ascertained and then the data must be properly read from the card or other means used to record it. Unfortunately, personal handwriting is too bad to read data even after the location of the data card. In addition, data entry on the card may be erased or ambiguous. All of these deficiencies are deficiencies in the various approaches of the prior art, limiting the widespread adoption and application of conventional devices. The inventors are also aware of passive electric transponders used in the prior art to mark or identify inventory items as well as livestock with identifying numbers or codes for inventory. This passive electric transponder is very small, typically consisting of a cylinder with a diameter of 2 mm and a length of 11 mm, the code of which can be conveniently read by a handheld electromagnetic reader. In operation, the handheld reader is brought close to the transponder and emits a low frequency magnetic field to energize the passive transponder, causing the reader to transmit encoded data. In the case of this special commercially available device, the passive transponder is not provided with a battery or other power source, which contributes to downsizing. One of the patents describing these commercially available passive transponders and handheld readers is US Pat. No. 5,041,826, which is hereby incorporated by reference. In this US patent, the patentee suggests that the primary purpose of the device is to identify an object, animal or human. However, we are not aware that this device is currently used to identify humans. Moreover, this device is currently only used for identifying objects etc. for inventory purposes, and such applications are convenient and unobtrusive including driver's licenses and other "ID" forms. It does not appear to be particularly suitable for human use as the means are already in use. In a novel and unique approach, the present inventors propose a passive transponder that is inserted directly into the human body, the passive transponder being encoded in one of a number of ways yet to accommodate appropriate medical information. Came up with to use. In practice, this passive transponder is loaded directly onto the human body underneath an area convenient to be encoded and then accessed, eg underarm. Because of its small size, it does not interfere with the patient, and even if you get naked, you will not notice it. At the same time, the transponder may be encoded in one of several ways to provide full access to a wide range of medical information at any time. Moreover, since medical information is collated and stored by trained medical personnel, its accuracy is reliable even in an emergency situation. For currently marketed devices, transponders may be encoded with up to 64 binary data bits. This memory capacity is expected to increase as passive transponders evolve and improve over time. With this memory capacity, a great deal of information can be encoded and stored directly in the transponder itself. For at least one commercially available device, three methods are used to encode information into the transponder. One encodes information during chip manufacture. Usually, when encoding at this time, a unique number is encoded into the transponder and can be used to access the data stored in the databank. Second, the memory chip is encoded after manufacture and before sealing the chip within the transponder envelope. If the chip is to be encoded at this stage, the medical information associated with any particular patient can be obtained with custom encoding. Third, the chip is manufactured and encapsulated within the transponder envelope, but without coding. Probably not even after loading the patient. The encoding can be done via read / write operations with an electromagnetic reader as described above. When coded in this way, custom coding can be used to directly code transponders having medical information corresponding to a particular patient. The unique identifier can be used in any of these three ways to encode the transponder and can be used to access the data in the historical databank. The coded information contained in the passive transponder can be used to access a data bank, which is readily available over a telephone line, for example, so that trained health professionals can easily access the medical information in an emergency. Can be obtained. In the case of the remote data bank example, the amount of data that can be stored is almost unlimited, and it is possible to update and change on the data bank side whenever the patient information changes, and all of these data input, change and access have been trained Handled by workers, it can provide reliable data for patient safety and benefit as well as to reduce legal liability. As we all know, there are some cases where serious legal liability is imposed for trusting inaccurate data. This inaccurate data can occur in any of the many ways described above in connection with conventional attempts to solve this problem. According to the present invention, legal liability is effectively reduced, and trained to handle this kind of data and, according to the skilled person, reliably controlled. With these advantages, it is expected that many healthcare professionals will welcome the adoption of the present invention and its loading into the human body. Having described the main advantages and features of the present invention, a more complete and thorough understanding of the present invention will be made by the following figures and description of a preferred embodiment. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a passive transponder loaded under the patient's armpit, along with a reader for reading encoded data. Detailed Description of the Preferred Embodiment As shown in the drawings, the passive transponder 20 is loaded under the armpit 22 of the patient 24, just below the skin. The handheld electromagnetic reader 26 can be brought into proximity with the passive transponder 20 and read the encoded information in a manner that does not affect healthy tissue. Similarly, the electromagnetic reader 26 may be used in read / write mode to directly encode the transponder 20. Alternatively, a memory chip (not shown because it is relatively small in size) may be provided within transponder 20 and encoded during manufacturing or before sealing to transponder 20. The decoder controller 28 may be used to access the databank 30 over a telephone communication line. In currently marketed devices, the passive transponder 20 is encoded with up to 64 binary data bits and may include or may be necessary or desirable medical information including blood type, drug-induced allergies, medications in medication. Other unknown information can be directly encoded or read from it. In the case of the second loading mode, the encoded information contained within the passive transponder 20 may be used instead to access the databank 30 over the telephone communication line 32 and even obtain a significant amount of information about a particular patient 24. it can. In this second load mode, the data entries contained in the databank 30 have been changed, updated, or modified by trained healthcare personnel to maintain current information about the particular patient 24 over time. be able to. The accuracy and reliability of the data, whether encoded in the passive transponder 20 or stored in the databank, are dependent on individual patient dependence only by trained healthcare personnel. It is expected to be almost complete in view of the fact that it will enter data against it and determine and enter the patient's own data for the personal ID card or other conventional device currently in use. As is apparent to those skilled in the art, various changes and modifications can be made to the present invention. However, these changes or modifications are included within the teachings herein and the invention is limited only by the scope of the appended claims.
