Abstract

PURPOSE: To make cell termination possible even when an incoming call from an unselected mode exists by making the call termination possible for the incoming call from either mode in an area capable of using an indenpendent mode and a public mode. CONSTITUTION: A PHS terminal equipment 10 can utilize both independent protocol and public protocol, and when it is present in the area 1 where both independent mode and public mode can be operated the equipment 10, a registers a position in both public PHS network operated by the public protocol and private branch network operated by the independent protocol, responds by the independent protocol when calling is performed in the independent mode through an independent base station 2 and responds by the public protocol when the calling is performed in the public mode through a public base station 3. Thus, incompleted calls generated since responding can not be performed by the PHS terminal equipment 10 are reduced and further, for the mode not present in the area, by prolonging the retrieval cycle of the mode, the power consumption of the equipment can be suppressed.

2. Description of the Related Art There are two types of PHS services, a public mode used when a PHS terminal is in a public area and a private mode used when a PHS terminal is in a public area. A public protocol is used for the PHS terminal to communicate in the public mode, and a private protocol is used for communicating in the private mode.

In a conventional PHS terminal capable of using both a public protocol and a privately-used protocol, a switching method is adopted in which one of the protocols is preferentially used. That is, when the PHS terminal is set to preferentially use the self-employed mode, in an area where only the self-employed mode can be received, location registration is performed in the self-employed mode to wait for an incoming call in the self-employed mode, and only the public mode can be received. In the public mode, the location registration is performed and the incoming call is waited in the public mode. In the area where both the private mode and the public mode can receive, the location registration is performed in the private mode and the incoming call is waited in the private mode. In addition, the PHS terminal can automatically select the mode.

However, a conventional PHS terminal set to preferentially use one of the self-employed mode and the public mode is located in an area where both the self-employed mode and the public mode can be received. When you are in the area
You cannot answer an incoming call that is in a mode other than the one that you chose to prioritize. Therefore, the incoming call becomes an incomplete call. For example, in an area where both private mode and public mode can be received, the private mode is set to be used preferentially, and when there is an incoming call in the public mode while waiting for an incoming call in the private mode, , The PHS terminal cannot return a response, and an out-of-range or power-off message is returned to the calling terminal, resulting in an incomplete call.

[0008] The mode switching means further selects the public protocol means at predetermined time intervals and selects the public protocol means when the user is in the area where the self-employed mode is operating and selects the private protocol means. The first determination means for determining whether or not the mode has been moved to the area where the mode is operated, and the predetermined determination method when the public protocol means is selected in the area where the public mode is operated. The second judgment means for judging whether or not the private mode protocol means is selected to move to the area where the private mode is operated and the private mode exists in the area where neither the private mode nor the public mode can be operated. And a means for searching for an operable mode by intermittently selecting the private protocol means and the public protocol means at predetermined time intervals. Door is good.

The portable telephone terminal device of the present invention responds by the private protocol when a call is made in the private mode when it is in an area where both the private mode and the public mode can be operated. When a call is made in, a public protocol can be used for the response. That is, when the user is in an area where both the self-employed mode and the public mode can be operated, the response is given regardless of whether the mobile phone terminal device is called by the public network number (public PHS number) or the dial-in number. It is possible. Therefore, unlike the conventional case, the caller does not complete an incomplete call by not responding to the incoming call called by the public PHS number and returning the out-of-range or power-off message to the calling terminal, and the caller does not receive the call to the called terminal device. The need to dial again with the dial-in number is eliminated.

In order to be able to respond to both calls in the self-employed mode and the public mode, it is preferable to switch between the self-employed protocol and the public protocol, and the public mode is operated. It is preferable to register the location in both the public network that operates and the private network that operates the private mode.

Further, when the user is in the area where only the self-employed mode can be received, it is determined whether or not the user has moved to the area where the public mode can be operated at regular intervals, and when the user is in the area where only the public mode can be received. It is determined at regular intervals whether or not it has moved to an area that can operate in self-employed mode, and when it is in an area that cannot be operated in either mode, whether or not it has moved to an area that can operate is intermittently determined at regular intervals. Power consumption of the mobile phone terminal device can be suppressed by making a positive determination.

The public standby timer 15 is activated. It is determined whether the location registration is performed on the public PHS network, and if not, the location registration procedure is performed on the public PHS network. t
Standby in public mode for 3 seconds and wait for incoming call in public mode. If the public mode cannot be received during this standby period, or if the public standby time t 3 seconds has elapsed, the protocol switching control unit 13 switches to the private protocol control unit 11 to search the private LCCH,
The operation after the search for the self-employed LCCH is repeated.

(3) When only the public mode can be received: The self-employed standby timer 14 is set to t 1 [seconds], and the protocol switching control unit 13 causes the self-employment protocol control unit 11 to operate.
Switch to and search for your own LCCH. When the private LCCH cannot be received, the protocol switching control unit 13 switches to the public protocol control unit 12 to search for the public LCCH, as shown in FIG. If the public LCCH can be received, the public standby timer is set to t 4 [seconds]. It is determined whether or not the location registration has already been performed on the public PHS network, and if not, the location registration procedure is performed on the public PHS network. Next, it waits for 4 seconds in public mode and waits for an incoming call in public mode. If the public mode cannot be received during this standby period or if the public standby time t 4 seconds has elapsed, the protocol switching control unit 13 switches to the private protocol control unit 11 to search for a private LCCH. If the private LCCH cannot be received, the public protocol control unit 12 is switched to search for the public LCCH. When the public LCCH can be received, the public standby timer 15 is started and the above operation is repeated.

Here, the set value of the public standby timer 15 is set to t 3 <t 4 . t 3 can be received by the self-employed LCCH,
It is also the setting value of the public standby timer 15 when the public LCCH can be received. When only the public LCCH can be received, it is not always necessary to search the private LCCH. However, since it is possible that the user moves into an area where the self-employed mode can be used, the self-employed LCCH is searched at a cycle longer than the self-employed LCCH search cycle when the self-employed mode and the public mode can be received at the same time. Also, self-employed L
By increasing the CCH search cycle, it is possible to reduce the power consumption of the PHS terminal device.

As described above, the portable telephone terminal device of the present invention can receive an incoming call in either mode in an area where the private mode and the public mode can be used. In this way, it is possible to reduce the number of incomplete calls caused by the fact that the PHS terminal according to the related art cannot respond. This also saves the caller from having to call back with the dial-in number.
Furthermore, for modes that do not exist in the area, power consumption of the device can be suppressed by lengthening the mode search cycle.
