Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a squeeze device for a tubular material such as a steel pipe having an ultraviolet curable paint soln. applied to the outer peripheral surface thereof. CONSTITUTION: A pipe 2 is passed through the painting apparatus ranging from a pipe painting machine 3 to an ultraviolet irradiation means 11 by feed means 1a, 21, 1b. Therefore, the pipe 2 can be painted regardless of the length of the pipe while passed through the painting apparatus. A squeeze plate 22 having an opening part of a diameter smaller than that of the pipe 2 is provided in front of the feed means 21 and the distance between the coating layer of the pipe coated with paint in the painting machine and the squeeze plate 22 is shortened. A squeeze plate 23 having a diameter almost same as the outer diameter of the pipe is provided behind the feed means 21. By providing the squeeze plates 22, 23 before and behind the feed means 21 in combination, the pipe is smoothly passed through the painting apparatus and the dripping of paint after the coating in the painting machine 3 is prevented and film thickness can be made uniform and thin.
