ラムの表面全面に亙って保護紙が巻き付けられていると
ともに、この保護紙に作用して前記感光体ドラム表面か
ら除去する保護紙分離手段を前記感光体ドラム内の軸方
向端部に組み込んでなる感光体ドラムユニットであっ
て、 前記保護紙分離手段は、前記感光体ドラムの非画像形成
領域上で前記保護紙に作用し、該保護紙の弱化部または
接合部に前記感光体ドラム周方向の張力成分を付与させ
て該弱化部または接合部を分離する作用位置と、前記保
護紙に作用しない退避位置との2位置間で変位可能な張
力付与部材を具備することを特徴とする保護紙除去機能
付感光体ドラムユニット。

る所定長の円弧状に形成された複数の張力付与部材を具
備し、且つ、各張力付与部材を前記感光体ドラムの画像
形成装置への装着動作に対応して前記作用位置に移動さ
せるとともに該作用位置に移動後、再度退避位置に戻る
ように構成され、 さらに前記保護紙は、前記各張力付与部材が作用位置に
あるとき、これらの張力付与部材間の保護紙が感光体ド
ラムの円周面に当接する当接部を有するとともに、その
弱化部または接合部は、張力付与部材の作用位置を通り
感光体ドラム軸に垂直な平面を含んで配置されているこ
