However, although the foamed plastic itself has extremely excellent characteristics, it has various problems in the treatment after being used as a cushioning material in recent years. For example, the collection route has not been developed, so it is thrown away as household waste, which is a big social problem. Along with this, it takes a lot of time to handle at the time of collection and the collection cost becomes high. Moreover, since high energy is required for incineration and disposal, it is necessary to install an incinerator. In addition, since the cushioning material made of foamed plastic itself is extremely bulky, it has drawbacks of low transportation efficiency, high transportation cost, and a large storage space. For this reason, in the industry, a cushioning material having an excellent cushioning function and a simple structure has been widely demanded as a substitute for the foamed plastic.

As used herein, the term "bottom plate" means
The portion forming the outer surface of the cushioning body of the present invention, which is usually in contact with the inner surface of a packaging material such as a corrugated cardboard box. The shape of the bottom plate is basically rectangular, but it may be partially provided with notches or holes, or a ridge portion may be provided so as to partially project. Further, the bottom folded piece may be extended from the bottom plate, and the bottom folded piece may be folded back to the bottom plate to increase the thickness. In this case, the bottom folded piece may be folded on the bottom plate or may be bent in a U-shape so that there is a space between the two. In addition, a U-shaped cut is provided on the bottom plate side from the bent part with the side plate,
You may make it provide the rising piece which protrudes below the said bottom face plate, when this side face plate is bent.

The "side plate" is a plate which extends from both sides of the bottom plate facing each other and is bent substantially upright with respect to the bottom plate. The side plates are provided with notches, which are insertion portions, at their upper ends. The side-face folding pieces may be extended to the side-face plate to double or triple-fold to enhance the strength. In this case as well, the space may be bent between the side plate and the side folding piece so that the side plate is bent. When the side-face folded piece is provided, a portion corresponding to the insertion portion is cut off or a notch groove that matches the insertion portion is provided so as not to cover the insertion portion provided on the side plate. To do so.

The "folding plate" is extended from at least one of the two side portions of the bottom plate which face the side plate and is not extended, and is folded over the bottom plate. Say something. This folding plate may also be bent in a U shape so that a space is formed between the folding plate and the bottom plate.

The "long hole" refers to a groove-like hole formed inside the side end portions of the folding weight plate or both of the folding weight plate and the back plate at the inside of these side edge portions. That is, by inserting the elongated hole into a part of the side plate and engaging with the insertion portion provided in the side plate, both side plates and the back plate are substantially upright with respect to the bottom plate, The folding plates are held in the folded state. In this case, the width of the bottom plate is made narrower than the width of the folding plate, or the position of the bent portion between the bottom plate and the side plate is provided inward from the end of the bottom plate. Align the position of the hole with the position where the side plate stands.

The folding plate and the back plate projecting outward of the side plate may be simply bent in an L shape, but a separate bending portion is provided on the outer side of the elongated hole to bend in a protruding shape. Alternatively, the upper portion of the side plate or the side-folded piece may be supported. For example, there is a case where the folding is performed in a stepwise manner by providing both ends of the elongated hole and three folding parts between the folding holes and the side edges of the back plate. When the back plate is not provided with the long hole, the back plate can be bent in a protruding manner by making a notch on the extension line of the long hole provided in the folding plate. Further, even when the back plate is provided with a long hole, it is possible to support the upper portion of the side plate or the like by providing a cut on the extension line of the long hole.

Basically, the side-folded piece and the back-folded piece are provided with a notch groove or the like which is fitted to the insertion part of the side plate or a part of the elongated hole when the pieces are folded back, or the whole of the fitted part is cut off. Alternatively, it is necessary to bend it so as not to erode the insertion part and the long hole. When providing a cut groove, etc., it is desirable to make it approximately the same size as the insertion part for the purpose of increasing the strength, but it is not necessarily the same shape and size as the insertion part or part of the elongated hole. It is sufficient that the shape and size do not hinder the functions of the insertion portion and the long hole. Therefore, the cut groove or the fitting groove may be formed to be larger than the insertion portion or the long hole, or conversely, may be formed to be smaller so that the cut groove or the like functions as the insertion portion or the long hole. You may make it play.

The elongated hole 7 may be provided only in the folding plate 3 without being provided in the back plate 5. This is because the insertion portion 6 of the side plate 4 is deepened as shown in FIG. 16 (a), and the folding plate 3 is made to have a space with respect to the bottom plate 2 as shown in FIG. 16 (b). If it is bent in a letter shape, it can be fitted without making the insertion portion 6 deep. Thus, when the back plate 5 is not provided with the long hole 7, by providing the notch 15 at the base portion of the back plate 5 on the extension line of the long hole 7 as shown in FIG.
It is possible to bend it in a protruding shape.
