Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the sealing performance in proportion to the pressure of an internal fluid in a flexible packing used at the time when flanges with curved type necks, the inner surface of which becomes U-shaped when the flanges are combined with each other, are joined, by forming sealing surfaces, each of which has an angle, at both end parts of the cross section of the packing. CONSTITUTION: In flanges in which the flange part 1 of a pressure receiving body is provided with a curved type neck 1a, and the internal shape of the cross section of the neck parts becomes U-shaped when the flanges 1 to be connected are joined, sealing surfaces 3, with which the pressure receiving body is to be in direct contact, at both end parts of the cross section of the packing 2 which is formed in a ring-like shape so that it can become attached to the inside surfaces of the flanges 1, are formed to be provided with angles A respectively. Further, wires or rings 2b are buried in both the end parts of the packing 2 in a circular shape, and an outside flange 2c is provided on the back-periphery of the packing 2. Thus, as a fluid is passed through the inside of the pressure receiving body and the internal pressure of the fluid is increased, the degree of adhesion of the packing to the pressure receiving body is increased, since the sealing surfaces 3 are pressurized.

2. Description of the Related Art In the conventional pressure receiving body, a flange portion is mainly made of a sheet packing made of various materials. To prevent fluid leakage, the number of bolts is increased or a means for increasing the strength for increasing the torque is taken. It was difficult to find the ideal one because there was a lot of difficulty in grooving the surface.
There are various other types, but it can be said that there are no excellent ones that are widely used as high-pressure sealing materials. Further, for gas pipes, fibrous materials were rolled up together with the joint material.

B) As shown in FIG. 1, a dedicated neck is provided in which a flanged portion of the pressure receiving body is provided with a curved neck 1a, and when the connecting flanges 1 are fitted together, the internal cross-sectional shape of the neck portion becomes U-shaped. It is premised that an attached flange is provided for combination, and (b) a packing 2 having a circumferential surface that fits the inner surface of the dedicated flange, and a sealing surface 3 in contact with both ends of the cross section and the pressure receiving body. It is characterized in that the angle A is provided at the point where the pressure from the internal fluid is transmitted to the other party as it is, and this is designed to enhance the sealing effect of the packing. It is desirable that the angle A is larger than 0 degree. C) Further, a wire or ring 2b is embedded in a circumferential shape at both ends of the packing. D) An outer flange 2c is provided on the circumference of the back of the packing. (E) The sectional angle B of the portion of the packing which is to be in contact with the pressure receiving body is wider than the neck portion of the pressure receiving body.

The outer flange 2c of the self-sealing packing made of a flexible material such as rubber or resin according to the present invention and the one flange 1 of the pressure receiving body are pressed together while being pressed, and one end of the packing is pressure-received. It is stored in the receiving portion 1c of the fitting portion of the body, and then is properly placed in the fitting portion of the pressure receiving body on the side to which the other end of the packing is connected. Installation is
Since the outer flange is provided, it is very easy, and since the cross-sectional angle B of the shape of the packing at the time of molding is wider than the cross-sectional shape of the neck portion of the pressure-receiving body, packing is performed when the flanges of the pressure-receiving body are fitted together. Both ends of the are shaped so as to fit along the neck, facilitating fitting. In addition, since the receiver 1c is provided at the inner end of the fitting portion of the pressure receiving body, the fitting can be surely performed.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS The self-sealing packing according to the present invention, which is constructed and attached as described above, can perform temporary sealing by tightening the outer flange 2c when the fluid is passed through the inside of the pressure receiving body, and then the fluid As the internal pressure gradually increases, the pressure on the entire inner surface of the packing and the sealing surface strongly increases the degree of adhesion with the pressure receiving body, enabling a complete seal.

The higher the fluid pressure in the pressure receiving body is, the higher the sealing performance is, so that there is no fear of leakage, and the strength of the flange of the pressure receiving body or the strength of the bolt which has been applied so far is required. Since there is no need to raise it further, the economic effect is very large.
