Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a luminous hard base plate adequate as a luminous ornament on walls and floor surfaces and a luminous guidance display in the dark. CONSTITUTION: Cords 40 formed by twisting and doubling plural pieces of transparent optical fibers 4 having their outer surfaces as light emitting surfaces to a three-braiding form are arranged within recessed grooves 3 of the hard base plate 1 selected from stone, tiles, bricks, glass blocks, hard plastic and timber formed with characters or graphics 2 by the recessed grooves 3 on the surface in the state of inserting these cords 40 into transparent synthetic resin tubes 8 or in the state of providing the surfaces of the cords 40 with transparent synthetic resin coating layers. The convergent ends of the respective transparent optical fibers 4 are eventually arranged to correspond to light sources while a transparent UV curing resin 5 is packed into the recessed grooves 3 so as to cover the upper parts of the cords 40 and is cured.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, a transparent optical fiber having an outer surface (longitudinal surface) as a light emitting surface is known, and the present inventors have used this transparent optical fiber to cut out characters or figures from a non-woven mat or plastic. A large number of the transparent optical fibers are arranged in parallel between the transparent vinyl chloride sheet and the base plate of a laminated body in which the tiles, the transparent vinyl chloride sheet, and the base plate are sequentially laminated, and the cutout portion is colored or blank. Proposed is a laminate having a luminous decoration effect, which is obtained by filling and curing a colored transparent methacrylic resin and making the converging end of each of the transparent optical fibers correspond to a light source.

However, in a laminate in which a transparent optical fiber having the outer surface as a light emitting surface is covered with a methacrylic resin, heating at about 80 ° C. or higher is required to cure the methacrylic resin. Therefore, it is necessary to take measures to prevent damage to the transparent optical fiber during curing, which is a problem in that it takes time to manufacture, and when used on a road where a large frictional force is applied, the cured methacrylic resin There is a problem that the layer is scratched and the luminous effect is lost.

DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION The present invention provides a transparent optical fiber which is difficult to obtain a high light intensity on the outer surface in a straight line,
By using at least three strands and twisting them into a braid to form a string-like object, the light brightness of the outer surface is significantly improved, and in the groove formed on the surface of the hard substrate. And the upper part thereof is covered with a transparent ultraviolet curable resin so that the light emitting effect is not impaired even under severe use conditions.

In the present invention, since the plurality of transparent optical fibers 4 arranged inside the concave groove 3 forming the character or the pattern 2 are knitted in a braid shape to form the string-like object 40. , The outer surface of the transparent optical fiber 4 becomes wavy in an uneven shape, and the brightness of light emitted from the outer surface is increased by about 50% or more as compared with the conventional linearly arranged in parallel. Can be recognized. Further, by making both end surfaces of the transparent optical fiber 4 correspond to the same light source, the light circulates in the transparent optical fiber 4 endlessly, so that the luminous efficiency is improved.

EFFECTS OF THE INVENTION Since the product of the present invention comprises a plurality of transparent optical fibers which are twisted into a braid to form a cord, a high light brightness is obtained on the outer surface of the transparent optical fiber and the hardness is high. Since it uses a high transparent UV-curing resin, it can be used not only indoors but also outdoors to decorate the wall surface for light emission and to guide the emission of light on the road surface. If it is provided in, the wear resistance is further enhanced.
