通された上糸を、上昇状態のミシンヘッド部の押え金の
下で上記回動ロッドの下方への回動により切断する刃
が、上記切欠きに露出して設けられた構成とされている
ので、ミシンヘッド部の上動により上糸を緊張させ、刃
でその上糸を針側に残される糸の長さに余裕をもって的
確に押し切ることができる。また、ミシンヘッド部の上
動によって押え金と布団との間に隙間があくので、刃で
布団を傷つけるおそれも少ない。更に、上糸の位置が左
右にずれていても、外広がり状の切欠きが上糸を確実に
捕捉して刃に導くので、この点でも上糸を的確に切断す
