ンドでは第5図に示すように素材エツジ部31と、下ブレ
ークダウンロール11と強接触で減肉が発生する。ここに
おいて12は上ブレークダウンロールである。そして減肉
が発生することにより、素材エツジ部と下ブレークダウ
ンロールとは未接触となるため素材エツジ部の成形が不
充分となる。また厚肉管の場合は管内外面の周長差が大
きくなるため、溶接直前の素材エツジ部の突合せ形状が
理想的なI型とならず、第6図のようなV型32となり易
く、このような状態で溶接すると第7図のように管内面
に生ずるビードが異常に大きくなり、ビード切削が困難
になるほか、溶接部の品質も悪くなる。

〔発明が解決しようとする問題点〕[Problems to be solved by the invention]

従来の電縫管製造装置で厚肉管を製造する場合ブレー
クダウンロールスタンドで発生する素材エツジの減肉お
よび、管内外面の周長差が大きくなるため素材エツジ部
の突合せ形状がV型となり易く、るそのために管内面に
生ずるビードが異常に大きくなるという問題点があつ
た。

でを円弧で形成したサイドロールを設けたことにある。

本発明は、ブレークダウンロールスタンドで生ずる素
材エツジ部に生じた減肉部分をサイドロールスタンドで
増肉しようとするもので、以下本発明の実施例を図面に
基ずいて説明する。本発明に使用するサイドロール2は
第2図のA部に特徴があり、ロール形状は第1図に示す
ようにロールの底面27から途中までを、ロール底面に鋭
角をなす直線25で形成し、該直線の終点からロール上部
フランジ28までを円弧26で形成してある。ロールの円弧
部26は素材エツジを増肉させる部分であり、上流スタン
ドから本実施例の一対のサイドロール間に移動してきた
湾曲した素材のエツジはロールの直線部25に強く接触し
つつ上方に案内されて円弧部26に至り第1図に示すよう
に強圧縮されて増肉される。強圧縮する部位が円弧とな
つているので素材エツジは無理なく増肉される。しか
し、従来のサイドロール2は第8図に示すようにロール
の側面21が一つの円弧のみで形成されているので、エツ
ジを増肉する作用はない。

ロールスタンドの間隔を極力短くして素材のスプリング
バツクを防止すること、およびロール間隔調整を容易に
行えるようにすることが重要である。第4図は本発明の
サイドロールを第3図のB8の位置に使用して製造した公
称径70φ、管肉厚11mmの断面形状を示す図であり、管の
形状および肉厚が均一であることを示している。
