In the wet color electrophotographic copying machine 100 of the above-described example, the photosensitive material 10 is used.
A liquid squeezing roller 106 and a liquid recovery blade 107 are provided as excess developer removing means for removing the excess developer adhering to No. 1.
And the air knife device 108, and the photosensitive material 101
During development, the stepped liquid squeeze roller 106 removes the excess developer adhering to the non-image areas on both sides of the photosensitive material 101, and when the development on the photosensitive material 101 is completed, the photosensitive material 1
Although the excess developing solution adhering to 01 is flowed down and removed by the air pressure of the air knife device 108 via the solution collecting blade 107, the photosensitive material 10 is being developed during development on the photosensitive material 101.
It is relatively neglected to remove the excess developer adhering to No. 1 above. That is, the photosensitive material 101 is the rotating drum 10
In order to remove the excess developer adhering to the image portion of the photosensitive material 101 because it is transferred together with 2 in the direction of arrow A,
This is a problem because the excess developer must be removed by the liquid recovery blade 107 and the air knife device 108 when the rotary drum 102 is rotated next time after the development is completed. Further, since the liquid recovery blade 107 is repeatedly used,
The collected excess developer is fixed to the liquid recovery blade 107, and the liquid recovery blade 107 needs to be cleaned, resulting in complicated maintenance.

On the other hand, in the excess developer removing device 200 of the other example described above, the tip of the nozzle 204a of the blower 204 is the developer 203 as the excess developer removing means for removing the excess developer adhering to the photosensitive material 201. Developing electrode 203a
7, the excess developer adhering to the photosensitive material 201 is blown off by the air blown from the nozzle 204a during the development on the photosensitive material 20.
As shown in FIG. 5, a part of the excess developer that has been blown away by the air is blown toward the end portion side of the photosensitive material 201 in the transfer direction. By the way, as shown in FIG. 7, the end portion of the photosensitive material 201 on the transfer direction side behind the image portion 201a is generally a non-image portion.
The excess developer adhering to the terminal non-image portion 201b of 01 may not be completely removed by the air from the nozzle 204a of the air blower 204, and the surplus developer adhering here may cause an image during transfer of the photosensitive material 201. When it adheres to the portion 201a, it deteriorates the image quality of the developed visible image. Therefore,
The photosensitive material 201 is not limited to one-color development, but especially when color development is performed through a plurality of development processes.
It is necessary to completely remove the excess developer adhering to the terminal non-image portion 201b.

At this time, when the first shaft 17 is in the non-actuated state (OFF), the driving force in the rewinding direction is not transmitted to the one-way clutch 28 fitted to the large pulley 29. The side is not rewound.

As described above in detail, according to the excess developer removing device 1 of the present invention, the photosensitive material 2 on which the latent image is recorded is wound around the rotating drum 6 and is transferred integrally with the rotating drum 6, and When the recorded latent image is developed into a visible image with the developer supplied from the developing device 31 (to 34) brought close to the rotary drum 6, the excess developing liquid adhering to the photosensitive material 2 is removed by the developing device 31.
(-34) Excess developer removed by air blown from a nozzle 48a provided on the downstream side of the photosensitive material 2 in the transfer direction and blown to the end portion 2b of the photosensitive material 2 in the transfer direction by the air from the nozzle 48a. Is configured to be removed by a part of the excess developer absorbing member 22 wound in a roll shape, so that the excess developer can be completely removed over the entire surface of the photosensitive material 2 that has been developed, and the developed visible image. In addition to improving the image quality, the quality and reliability of the excess developer removing device 1 can be improved. Further, since the excess developer absorbing member 22 wound in a roll shape is provided so as to be able to be wound up, when a part of the excess developer absorbing member 22 is brought into contact with the transfer direction side end portion 2b of the photosensitive material 2. Since a part of the excess developer absorbing member 22 is always renewed to an unused portion, the excess developer can be efficiently removed. Furthermore, since the liquid recovery blade used in the conventional wet color electrophotographic copying machine is not used, there is no need to worry about the change over time of the liquid recovery blade.

According to the excess developer removing device of the present invention described in detail above, the photosensitive material on which the latent image is recorded is wound around the rotary drum and is transferred integrally with the rotary drum, and the latent image recorded is recorded. When developing an image into a visible image with the developer supplied from the developing device that is close to the rotating drum, the excess developer adhering to the photosensitive material is blown out from a nozzle provided downstream of the developing device in the transfer direction of the photosensitive material. In addition to the removal by air, the excess developer blown to the end portion of the photosensitive material in the transfer direction by the air from the nozzle is configured to be removed by a part of the excess developer absorbing member wound in a roll shape. The excess developing solution can be completely removed over the entire surface of the photosensitive material which has been subjected to the above step, and not only the image quality of the developed visible image can be improved, but also the quality and reliability of the excess developing solution removing apparatus can be improved.
Further, since the excess developer absorbing member wound in a roll shape is provided so as to be able to be wound up, when a part of the excess developer absorbing member is brought into contact with the transfer-direction-side end portion of the photosensitive material, excess developer is developed. Since a part of the liquid absorbing member is constantly renewed to an unused portion, the excess developing liquid can be removed efficiently. Furthermore, since the liquid recovery blade used in the conventional wet color electrophotographic copying machine is not used, there is no need to worry about the change over time of the liquid recovery blade.
