Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide connectors which are easy to be manufactured and handled and stably carry out contact of contacts at high density by employing a way in which tip parts of contacts of one connector can be brought into contact stably with contact parts of opponent contacts installed in the other connector based on a restoring force at the time of buckling deformation. CONSTITUTION: A bucking deformation-type connector is provided with one connector 10 in which a plurality of contacts 3 having opened contact parts arranged in a row and another opponent side connector 11 in which a plurality of opponent side contacts to be inserted in the open parts of a plurality of the contacts 3 and brought into contact with the contact parts are arranged in a uniaxial direction. When one connector 10 and the other opponent connector 11 are brought closer and fitted mutually in the uniaxial direction, the tip parts of a plurality of the opponent contacts 4 are brought into contact with the contact parts and the middle parts are buckled and deformed in the vertical direction to the uniaxial direction.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as an example of this type of connector, the one disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 57-105986 can be cited. This connector is provided with one connector having a plurality of contacts each having a contact portion opened in a U-shaped cross section on the tip side, and a plurality of mating contacts inserted into and contacting the contact portions of each of these contacts. Made up of the other mating connector. When connecting with this connector, as a first operation, both connectors are brought close to each other in the axial direction in which each contact extends, and each connector in one connector has an opening at the contact portion of each contact, and each mating side in the other mating connector. After inserting the tips of the contacts, the second operation is to move both connectors relative to each other in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the contacts, so that the tips are respectively attached to one of the three-sided walls of the contacts. Contact is made.

As another example, the connector disclosed in Japanese Examined Patent Publication No. 3-28024 has a plurality of contacts each having a contact portion having a U-shaped cross-section on the tip side and a bent portion extending from the contact portion in the middle. It is composed of one connector and the other mating connector having a plurality of mating contacts that are inserted and locked into the contact portions of these contacts. When connecting with this connector, by mating both connectors close to each other in the axial direction in which each contact extends, each mating side of the other mating connector having a size larger than the inner diameter of each contact part. One part of each contact is locked to each contact part, and each contact of both connectors is brought into contact with each other by receiving the restoring force from the deformed bent part of each contact of one connector. That is, in the case of this connector, connection can be performed by one operation.

Further, as another example, the connector disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 6-89764 includes a plurality of arcuate contacts having protrusions protruding from both ends, and allows each contact to buckle. From one connector having an opening for holding the connector, and the other pair of mating connectors each having a plurality of mating contacts that are sandwiched from both sides and are pressed into contact with the protrusions of the contacts. Made of When connecting with this connector, connect both sides of one connector to the other so that the mating contacts of the other pair of mating connectors abut against the protrusions at both ends of each contact of the one connector. By sandwiching and pressing and fixing with the mating connector, the contacts of both connectors are brought into contact with each other by receiving the restoring force from the deformed arcuate portion of each contact of one connector.

Further, in the case of the connector of another example, the bow-shaped contacts of one connector are provided in the opening and are brought into contact with the mating contacts of the other mating connector by the restoring force when they are buckled. Therefore, there is a problem in that the buckled state of each arcuate contact varies, and the contact state of each contact in both connectors tends to become unstable.

According to the present invention, one connector in which a plurality of contacts having open contact portions are arranged in parallel, and the connector is inserted from the openings of the plurality of contacts to contact the contact portions. It is composed of the other mating connector in which a plurality of mating contacts extending in the uniaxial direction are arranged side by side, and one connector and the other mating connector are fitted close to each other in the uniaxial direction at the tips of the mating contacts. A buckling-deformable connector is obtained, which is brought into abutting contact with the contact portion when mated and the intermediate portion is buckled and deformed in a direction perpendicular to the uniaxial direction. In this buckling-deformable connector, it is preferable that, with respect to the plurality of mating contacts, an end opposite to the tip is fixed to the body of the mating connector.

As described above, according to the buckling deformable connector of the present invention, a plurality of mating contacts provided on the other mating connector connected to one connector are buckled and deformed. It is assumed that the tip end of the mating contact is brought into stable contact with the contact part of the contact provided on one connector by the restoring force at the time of the buckling deformation, or each contact in the pair of connectors is A plurality of mating contacts inserted between the openings of the mating contact shall be deformed by buckling, and both ends of the mating contact should contact the contact parts of the pair of connectors due to the restoring force during this buckling deformation. It is configured to make stable contact. Therefore, it is possible to provide a buckling-deformable connector that requires no trouble in operation and manufacturing, and that can perform contact of each contact in both connectors with high density and extremely stably without having unnecessary dimensions. .

3. A pair of connectors in which a plurality of contacts having open contact portions are arranged side by side, and both ends are inserted in the openings of the pair of connectors and extend in a uniaxial direction in which both ends are in contact with the contact portions. A plurality of mating contacts, and both ends of the mating contacts contact the contact parts when the pair of connectors are fitted close to each other in the extending direction of the contacts. A buckling deformable connector, wherein the buckling deformable connector is in contact with and is deformed in a direction perpendicular to the extending direction.
