Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately read time even in a dark place by adding a LED watch and causing a LED display to emit light by a LED watch driving circuit. CONSTITUTION: For a wristwatch 1a having a LED display 5, an analog movement 6 and a circuit board 7 to which the LED display 5 is stuck are connected together to constitute a module in a normal wristwatch case 3a. By a battery loaded in the wristwatch 1a, an LED watch circuit part and an analog watch circuit part are caused to continue their operations. Then, a button switch 18 formed in one side of the case 3a is operated while the LED display 5 is OFF, and an interlocking switch 19 is turned ON once. Thus, the LED display 5 is set, a light emission operation is performed for a certain time, a light is projected through a light diffusion filter 10a on the upper side to the character plate of a semi-transmissive light reflection plate 11a and a current time is displayed.

2. Description of the Related Art Currently used wristwatches and the like have an analog clock and a liquid crystal display (LC
Most of them are digital clocks that display the time as numbers in D), and these have the disadvantage that the time cannot be read without an external light source. To compensate for this, in the former case, Applying a luminous body to the pointer so that the pointer can be read by the accumulated light, and in the latter case, a small lamp can be attached and the built-in battery can turn on the lamp to read the time. There are things that I was able to do.

However, in the case of a light-emitting body, its function cannot be exhibited in a dark place unless the light is applied to the light for a certain period of time to accumulate the light, and in the case of a small lamp. However, due to the structural characteristics that it is attached to one side of the LCD, it is not possible to see clearly as a whole and its functions are limited, so that it is difficult to read the exact time at any time in a dark place. That inconvenience still existed.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In view of the above-mentioned drawbacks, the present invention suspends the luminous body application pointer or the small lamp illumination system, and operates an LED that works in conjunction with a normal analog timepiece or LCD timepiece as shown in FIG. A clock is attached and the LED clock drive circuit causes the LED display to emit light, and the current time is displayed by numbers, so even when the surroundings are dark and it is not possible to read the time on the hands of the analog clock or the LCD, it is accurate. The time can be easily read, and the drawback that the conventional LED timepiece cannot always display the time due to excessive current consumption is compensated by an analog timepiece or an LCD timepiece.

1 to 4, reference numeral 16 is a battery holder, 23 is a connector, and 24 is a pointer. In the case of the first embodiment configured in this way, the LED clock circuit unit 25 and the analog clock circuit unit 30 continue to operate by the battery 15 mounted on the wristwatch 1a, but the LED display 5 is "OFF". In this state, the button switch 18 formed on one side of the case 3a is operated to turn on the interlocking switch 19 once to turn on the LED.
The display 5 emits light for a predetermined period of time, and the semi-transmissive reflection plate 11 is passed through the upper light diffusion filter 10a.
Light is projected on the dial a to display the current time. In the case of the second embodiment, the LED display 5 emits light in accordance with the “ON” operation of the switch 19 which is interlocked with the button switch 18, and the LCD 12 having the semi-transmissive reflection plate 11b attached thereto emits light through the upper light diffusion filter 10b. Is projected to display the current time. In this way, time reading in the dark is accurate and easy.

For reference, since the current consumption of the LED display 5 during the light emitting operation is too large, the operating time is limited to the minimum time at which the current time can be read to reduce the current consumption of the battery and increase the battery length. The electrical operation relationship of the LED timepiece and the analog timepiece drive circuit that enables the period use is briefly described as follows.

In FIG. 3, the crystal oscillator 26 connected to the input / output terminal of the internal oscillation circuit of the LED timepiece IC 20 oscillates at a frequency of 32,768 Hz when the power source of the battery 15 is applied, and this oscillation frequency is LED clock IC
A frequency dividing circuit and a counting circuit configured inside 20 make a counting output, and the counting output is converted into a code for displaying a change of time through a decoder and input to the LED display 5 to display the time. At the same time, the oscillation frequency at the output end of the internal oscillation circuit is converted into a motor drive pulse signal via the internal oscillation circuit, the frequency dividing circuit, and the conversion circuit of the analog timepiece IC 28 subordinately connected through the coupling capacitor 27. Then, the stepping motor 29 is interlocked with the pointer 24 to display the same time as the LED display 5.
