Description of the Related Art When abutting the ends of a relatively thick stranded wire electric wire in which a plurality of wires are twisted together and connecting them by resistance welding, as shown in the longitudinal sectional view of FIG. The wires 2 are directly abutted against each other, and current is applied to these wires while pressurizing them, and the connection portions are connected by heating and pressure contact by resistance heating.
However, in such a method, as shown in the vertical sectional view of FIG. 6, the strand 2 may buckle and open like an umbrella during the pressing process, and as shown in the vertical sectional view of FIG. Even if it happens, both strands 2 may have a stagger 13 at the joint surface, and there is a dislike that the mechanical strength of the connection portion is lowered and the electrical resistance is increased.

This prevents the strand from buckling and opening like an umbrella during the pressing process. Further, by butt-connecting both electric wires through such an insert member, the discrepancy of the connecting portion is eliminated, and the decrease in mechanical strength and the increase in electric resistance are prevented.

FIG. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of a joint before connection of the first embodiment, and FIG. 2 is a joint before connection of the second embodiment. FIG. 3 is a vertical sectional view of the post-connection joint, and FIG. 4 is a schematic view of a resistance welding apparatus for carrying out the present method. First, in FIG. 1 of the first embodiment, between the butt ends of a relatively thick electric wire 1 composed of a plurality of wires 2 and having a cross-sectional area of about 100 mm 2 , the same material as the wires 2 is provided on both sides. An insert member 3 provided with a wire insertion hole 4 having a depth of about 3 mm is interposed. The gap between the bottoms of the holes 4 of the insert member 3 is about twice the diameter of the wire 2.

In a state where the wire 2 is inserted and held by the grip portion 8 while applying a pressing force 10 to the tip end surface of the wire 2 by the pressurizing mechanism 9,
A current 12 is supplied from the welding power source 11 to heat and connect. Then, since the tip of the wire 2 is housed in the wire insertion hole 4 of the insert member 3, it does not buckle and open like an umbrella in the pressurizing process, and the tips of the wire 2 are different from each other in the insert member 3. Since they are opposed to each other via the central thick portion, there is no discrepancy, which would not cause a decrease in mechanical strength and an increase in electrical resistance of the connection portion, and a proper connection portion can be obtained.

The center thick portion of the insert member 3 is set to about 7 mm in consideration of the amount of upset during resistance welding. However, in this case, when resistance welding is performed between the ends of the electric wire 1 with the insert member 3 interposed by a method as shown in FIG. 4, buckling, deterioration of mechanical strength, and reduction of mechanical strength are caused as in the first embodiment. It is possible to prevent an increase in electric resistance, and as shown in FIG. 3, a brazing impregnation 7 is formed in the gap between the wire 2 and the insert member 3 and the gap between the wire 2 so that the electrical conductivity, A joint with excellent strength can be obtained. In addition, the low melting point wax enables resistance welding with stable joint quality.

By resistance welding by inserting an insert member that has wire insertion holes on both sides, it is possible to prevent the wires from buckling like an umbrella and opening, and at the machine of the connecting part due to misalignment of the wires. Industrial Applicability The present invention is extremely useful industrially, because a method for connecting a stranded wire and an electric wire can be obtained which can prevent a decrease in mechanical strength and an increase in electric resistance and can obtain an appropriate connection portion by resistance welding.
