Abstract

PURPOSE: To maintain the hygroscopicity and elasticity by a method wherein chloride such as glycerine, bittern or calcium chloride is added to soil material for pavement with n-paraffin blended further and mixing is made with silicone added further. CONSTITUTION: Glycerine is added to and mixed with soil material for pavement, or chloride such as calcium chloride or bittern is blended instead of glycerine. Then, mixing is made with n-paraffin added, and coating is made to soil partciles therewith in order to prevent glycerine from flowing out, being dissolved in rainwater. Therefore, outflow of glycerine is prevented. The improved soil is put onto the foundation surface of grounds or the like and finished up in a pavement surface after compaction is applied. In another case, silicone is added further to and mixed with the improved soil to make the soil get fragmentary easily, and after compaction is applied the pavement surface which is excellent in holding spikes and in recoverability of cushioning function is finished up.

[Prior Art] In various types of grounds and garden sidewalks, clay paving surfaces are formed with soil (Arakida soil, color sand, dust paving soil, etc.) instead of paving with asphalt or concrete as with all-weather grounds. You can see an example of doing this. It is said that clay pavement provides moderate and natural cushioning properties compared to an all-weather type ground, and the burden on the legs and feet of athletes and pedestrians is small.

However, since the pavement surface is gradually hardened due to repeated rain and sunshine, repair work is required to loosen the soil and restore the cushioning property. Also, if the soil dries, the pavement surface will crack, and the soil will rise as sand dust, so you have to sprinkle water and try to maintain good management from day to day, but the soil will freeze in the winter. Or, there was a problem that the frost defrosting occurred.

Therefore, as a method for preventing the pavement surface from drying or freezing, it is known to spray bitter juice, calcium chloride, asphalt emulsion, heavy oil, etc., or mix it with soil.

However, in this method, the admixture is liable to melt and flow in rainfall or the like, and its sustaining effect cannot be expected for a long time. Therefore, if the number and amount of spraying are increased, the mixture may flow to the ground or soak into the subterranean layer, which may cause environmental problems such as pollution and odor.

According to the first aspect of the invention, the n-paraffin coats the soil particles, so that the moisture retention property of the soil is enhanced. n-
Paraffin has a stable property that it does not dissolve in water and does not evaporate or catch fire. Therefore, if the soil material for paving is given an appropriate amount of water beforehand, the coating of n-paraffin will prevent the pavement from drying. And good cushioning properties can be maintained for a long time. In addition, the water repellency of n-paraffin makes it difficult to form frost, so that the pavement surface can be prevented from freezing.

According to the second invention, the hygroscopicity of the pavement soil is enhanced by glycerin or bittern or chloride such as calcium chloride, and the soil particles are coated with n-paraffin. Prevents chlorides such as calcium chloride from melting and flowing. According to this, since the chlorinated paraffin coats the soil particles, the moisture retaining property of the soil is enhanced. Paraffin does not dissolve in water, has a stable property at a freezing point of -20 ° C and does not cause evaporation or ignition, so that the water content of soil particles is kept constant for a long time.

When this improved soil is carried to a ground surface such as a gland and subjected to compaction to finish on a pavement surface, the surface of the soil particles is coated with paraffin, so that not only good water retention can be obtained. Water flow between the particles is also secured to prevent rainfall from entering the soil particles. That is, it is possible to obtain a paved surface that is well drained and does not easily dry, and it is possible to maintain the appropriate cushioning property for a long time. In addition, the water repellency of paraffin makes it difficult to form frost, so that the pavement surface can be prevented from freezing.

Since the soil material is difficult to dry because of the hygroscopicity of glycerin, glycerin dissolves in water such as rainfall and flows when it is left as it is. In order to impart good water resistance to this paved soil, liquid chlorinated paraffin (chlorine content 40.0 to 45.5%) as n-paraffin is mixed with the soil in an amount of 1 to 25% by volume. .

According to this, the chlorinated paraffin is not soluble in glycerin, and the soil particles are coated to suppress the outflow of glycerin. Bringing this improved soil to a foundation surface such as a ground and rolling it to make a pavement surface,
Due to the hygroscopicity of glycerin and the moisturizing effect of paraffin, a good paved surface can be maintained for a long time, which is resistant to frost and does not dry easily.

According to this, the action of the silicone oil, which is also used as a release agent, is added, so that the pavement soil is hard to clump and becomes loose. If this soil is carried to a ground surface such as a gland and rolled to finish the pavement surface, the spikes work well and the cushioning property can be easily restored. The amount of silicone oil added is determined in the range of 0.5 to 5% where water resistance and dustproof effect (moisture retention) are exhibited, but the optimum amount is around 3%.

Next, Table 1 shows the results of a moisturizing test conducted using a black soil having a water content of 30%. They prepared 9 different samples in the same container, and under the same environmental conditions (room temperature 25 ° C), the initial total weight including container weight Ws (g)
And the total weight We (g) after a predetermined time (48 hours) is measured, and the loss amount Lw (g) = Ws−We of each weight is measured from these.
And loss rate R (%) = 100 · Lw / Ws.

The volume ratio (3%, 5%, 10%, 15%) of black soil only (natural state in which no improver was added) was used for the first container, and black soil was used for the second to fifth containers. Samples mixed with different chlorinated paraffins were mixed with each other, and the sixth container to the ninth container were mixed with dimethyl silicone oil in an amount of 3% by volume in each sample of the second container to the fifth container. Put the sample.

From the results of this test, it is understood that the sample obtained by mixing chlorinated paraffin and silicone has a much smaller weight loss rate R (%) and has a better moisturizing property of soil than the black soil in the natural state. it can. Further, it can be confirmed that the effect is more remarkable when silicone is used together, as compared with the case of using chlorinated paraffin alone.
