Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce assembly manhours by reducing the number of part items and to enhance the property of radiating heat for the protection of memory and for miniaturization. CONSTITUTION: This connector has an insulator 2 to which a contact 3 is secured and a pair of side frame portions 41 which project perpendicularly from both sides of the insulator. The side frame portions 41 are formed by punching of a metallic material by means of a press in such a way that they are integrated and connected together at a connection 40 at one end. A latch 43 and a board locking portion 45, by which a mating board inserted from above are locked into place, are formed in each side frame portion 41. Locking windows 46 formed in both of the side frame portions are locked to locking projections 23 formed on the insulator, so as to assemble the side frame portions and the insulator together.
