写後の感光体ドラム上の潜像電荷は、除電器によって除
電される。又、転写されずに感光体ドラム上に残った残
留トナーは、クリーナーで除去される。次に、トナー像
を担持した転写材は、定着装置に搬送される。画像形成
装置の定着装置としては、熱源を内蔵する加熱ロ−ラ
と、これに圧接する加圧ロ−ラから形成されており、一
般にこれらは定着ローラとよばれている。前記加熱ロ−
ラと前記加圧ロ−ラの接触部、即ち、ニップ部に、未定
着トナー像を担持した転写材を通過させて熱と圧力によ
って定着を行なう。この際、加熱ローラ及び加圧ローラ
は高温に維持されていることが必要不可欠な条件であ
る。そのため、前記加熱ローラ、前記加圧ローラの両端
の軸部から熱の放出を防止するために、図5に示すよう
に、各ローラの軸1と、軸受2との間には、ブッシュ形
