Conventionally, in a digital signal transmission device whose operation is controlled by control data stored in advance in a non-volatile memory mounted in a detachable package, the package is erroneously mounted in a place other than the place where it should be originally mounted, and malfunction occurs. To prevent this from happening, the package itself is changed in shape at each mounting location to make it physically impossible to mount anywhere other than where it should be mounted, or a circuit that generates a different identification signal for each package. A method of preventing malfunction by mounting in advance and comparing this identification signal with information about a predetermined mounting device is known.

In recent electronic devices, the control data set by the device user to arbitrarily control the device operation according to the usage conditions,
Information that cannot be given in advance at the time of manufacturing, such as information that is determined depending on past device operation history, such as selection status information for redundant components in the device, is installed in the package inside the device. More and more devices have a function of storing the data in a rewritable non-volatile memory as needed and reproducing the previous operation state according to the stored control data when the device is restarted. In such a device, although the functions of the package to be mounted are exactly the same, the stored control data is different, so it is necessary to limit the mounting device even if they are the same package. If it is erroneously mounted on a different device, the device will perform a completely different operation, resulting in a very serious malfunction.

However, in the above-mentioned conventional first malfunction prevention method due to erroneous package mounting, the control data stored in the non-volatile memory when the package mounted with the non-volatile memory, which should be originally mounted, is erroneously mounted in another device. In order to prevent reading, the shape of the package corresponding to each mounting location is changed, so even if functionally the same package is installed, as in the case where multiple identical devices are installed. However, there is a drawback in that the shape of the package must be changed in many ways only by the contents of the control data stored in the non-volatile memory. Further, even in the case of the conventional malfunction prevention method by the second package erroneous mounting, it is possible to prevent the erroneous operation caused by the erroneous mounting of a package other than a predetermined package at a specific portion of the device, but the same package as described above. If there are a plurality of devices equipped with and the control data stored between the devices are different from each other, malfunction cannot be prevented. Further, in order to prevent such malfunction by the conventional technology, it is necessary to change the identification signal generating circuit in each package for each individual device, even though the packages have the same main function. Similar to the first method, there is a drawback that remarkably impairs mass productivity.

The malfunction prevention method by malfunction mounting of the present invention is a device having a device code signal generator that generates a code signal uniquely assigned to itself, and a device identification code indicating a device that is detachable and mountable on the device. It is determined whether or not the package mounted with a non-volatile memory having an area for storing the data, the device identification code read from the non-volatile memory, and the code signal issued from the device code signal generation unit match. A comparison unit and a read prohibition signal generation unit that prohibits reading of the control data from the nonvolatile memory only when the comparison result in the comparison unit does not match.

Next, the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a block diagram of an embodiment of the present invention, showing a case where a package 2 having a non-volatile memory 3 is mounted on a device 1. The device 1 has a device code signal generator 4 for issuing a code signal assigned to the device 1, and the rewritable nonvolatile memory 3 mounted on the package 2
Has an area 5 for storing a device identification code for identifying a device in which the package 2 is to be mounted, in addition to an area for storing control data for controlling the operation of the device. Remembered.

When the package 2 is mounted on the device, the device-specific code issued from the device code signal generator 4 and the device identification code stored in the area 5 of the non-volatile memory 3 are compared in the comparator 6, The result is sent to the read inhibit signal generator 7 through the path A. The read inhibit signal generator 7 reads the control data stored in the non-volatile memory 3 through the path B only when the comparison result sent from the comparator 6 indicates that the two codes do not match. A read prohibition signal for prohibiting is issued to prohibit reading of control data from the nonvolatile memory 3.

As described above, the present invention has a device code signal generator that outputs a code signal unique to the device, and identifies the device in which the package in which the nonvolatile memory is mounted is to be mounted in the area of the nonvolatile memory. The device identification code to be stored is stored, and whether or not both codes match is compared, and when it is determined that they do not match, by prohibiting reading of the control data stored in the nonvolatile memory, It is possible to physically make the individual packages completely the same, and it is possible to prevent malfunction of the device due to erroneous mounting without impairing mass productivity.
