2. Description of the Related Art Generally, a long metal member having an engaging portion with another member and having an irregular cross-sectional shape is used as a window frame or curtain rail for construction, a door frame of an automobile, a window frame or a seat belt guide. A frame, a window regulator, etc. can be illustrated. Explaining a door frame of an automobile as a typical example thereof, as shown in FIG. 8, it has a substantially groove-shaped channel portion 1 in which an inner side surface 1a and an outer side surface 1b are connected by a bottom surface 1c, and from this inner side surface 1a to the outside. It has a reinforcing portion 2 that is curvedly formed and spot welded to the bottom surface 1c. At the end of the channel portion 1, locking portions 3 and 4 for holding a glass run channel for guiding the elevating glass are provided.

Conventionally, when manufacturing a metal member of this kind, a roll forming machine is used, and a single metal strip material is continuously bent and formed by the roll forming machine to form the main body of the metal member, It is usual that the locking portion is also formed by folding back from the main body portion of the metal member or projecting as a ridge on the inside of the channel portion.

DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, according to this method for manufacturing a metal member, the metal member is folded back with the same metal strip material as that of the main body portion of the metal member, although the locking portion of the other member is not required to have so much strength. Since they are formed as parts or ridges, a relatively large number of forming rolls are required only for forming these. In particular, there are many bending points, and when the angle of bending and folding is large, many forming rolls must be assembled accordingly. In addition to this, when turning back to an extremely small radius, small cracks are generated in the turning back part, and the metal strip material slides in contact with many forming rolls at the part where the turning up part and the ridges are formed and partially cuts. As a result, it becomes a minute metal piece, which may cause an indentation on the outer surface due to the fact that the metal piece adheres to the plate surface and comes into sliding contact with the forming roll.

Operation In this method of manufacturing a metal member, the locking portion of another member is formed by the sub metal strip material that is joined to the main metal strip material, so even when the sub metal strip material is bent and formed as the locking portion, Not only can the number of forming rolls be reduced by using a metal material with a small thickness, or by forming a concave groove in the bent portion, but it is also possible to reduce the number of forming rolls, The amount of scraping can be reduced and the occurrence of indentations on the outer surface can be avoided, and since the sub metal strip material is joined while the main metal strip material is held substantially flat, the manufacturing line is also a simple process. You can do it.

In the illustrated embodiment, a vehicle door frame is illustrated as a typical example of a metal member and is manufactured by applying the manufacturing line shown in FIG. 1 and applying a plate thickness of about 0.6 to 1.2 mm with a constant width. A main metal strip material M such as a cold-rolled steel plate and a sub metal strip material S having a relatively narrow width of about 0.15 to 0.4 mm are continuously fed out to form a vehicle door sash. be able to. A required number of sub metal strip materials S are simultaneously fed out in accordance with the number of locking portions of other members to be parallel processed in the same line.

The strip materials M and S are fed out from the uncoilers 10 and 11, and the auxiliary metal strip material S is partially contacted with the surface of the main metal strip material M and sent to the rotary spot welding machine 12 so that a predetermined length is obtained along the longitudinal direction. Weld and join at a pitch of. At this time, if the main metal strip material M is held in a flat plate shape, the sub metal strip material S can be easily joined, which is preferable. Alternatively, the main metal strip material M may be partially flat, and the sub metal strip material S may be in contact with each other and partially rolled by a welding machine from above and below or from the left and right. Spot welding spots on the drawing x
Immediately after the welding process, as shown in FIG. 2, two auxiliary metal strips S, which are locking portions for attaching the glass run channels, are joined to different positions on the surface of the main metal strip M immediately after the welding process. . This sub metal strip material S
After joining, the main metal strip material M is sent to a cold roll forming machine 13 consisting of a group of rotationally driven rollers and is bent and formed as a main body of a metal member having a predetermined irregular cross-sectional shape. The main body has an inner surface m 1 and an outer surface m 1 as shown in FIG.
2 , a substantially groove-shaped channel portion having a bottom surface m 3 and a reinforcing portion m 4 that is curved and formed outward from the inner side surface m 1 , and the bottom surface m 3 and the back surface of the reinforcing portion m 4 are formed after this bending molding. The rotary spot welder 14 is configured to weld and join at a predetermined pitch. In this state, the sub metal strip material S is located at the end of the channel portion, and when it is formed as an extremely small locking portion without bending, it is immediately cut to a predetermined size by slicing to a predetermined size, so that the vehicle door frame It can be used as a material. On the other hand, when the sub metal strip material S is bent into a predetermined shape, it can be easily bent because the sub metal strip material S is formed of a thin plate. It is advisable to form a groove V as shown in FIG. 4 at a desired bending position along the line. This sub metal strip material S can be bent and formed by a forming roller 16 as shown in FIG. 5 so as to stand up from the plate surface of the main metal strip plate M, and the forming roller 16 does not have to be rotationally driven. The material S can be bent. Finally, the shaper may be finely shaped by passing it through a shaping device 17, for example, a die having an insertion hole of substantially the same cross section as the product outer shape, and cut into a predetermined size with a cutting machine 18.

It should be noted that in the above-described embodiment, description has been made on the basis of the case where the clasp run channel is attached to form the engaging portions S 1 and S 2 bent into a desired shape at the ends of the channel portion as shown in FIG. but other the weather strip of the locking portion S 3, it can also attempt to install the locking portion S 4 of the pressure-sensitive conductive strip.

EFFECTS OF THE INVENTION As described above, according to the method for manufacturing a metal member of the present invention, the number of forming rolls is reduced, the roll forming process is shortened, the occurrence of indentations and the like is reduced, and the process is extremely simple. This makes it possible to manufacture a metal member.
