Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the overcurrent of house wiring and to lessen the operation of a breaker. CONSTITUTION:When a plurality of appliances of large rated current values, a television set 3, a microwave oven 4, an air conditioner 5, etc., for example, are operated at the same time, a breaker 2 is operated by overcurrent. For preventing this kind of fault, a current detecting device 6 composed of a current detecting circuit 7 for detecting the current of house wiring, a microcomputer 8 for converting input signal voltage from this current detecting circuit 7 into a specified output signal, and a transmitting circuit 9 for transmitting the output signal of this microcomputer 8 to the air conditioner 5 is fitted to the house wiring. 10 is a current sensor for detecting the current of the house wiring. The microcomputer 8 begins to operate when the output voltage of the current detecting circuit 7 reaches a specified value or higher, and outputs a specified signal to a transmitting circuit 9 when the input signal voltage of an A/D port reaches a specified value or higher. The transmitting circuit 9 converts the input signal into an infrared signal for example, and transmits it to the air conditioner 5. When the control element of the air coditioner 5 receives the signal from the transmitting circuit 9, it lowers the numbers of rotation of a compressor, etc., and suppresses the input current.

By the way, in many households, the contract current is often as small as 30 amperes. However, on the other hand, televisions, electric refrigerators, etc. are becoming larger and the rated current is also increasing. In particular, microwave ovens and air conditioners with rated currents exceeding 10 amps are widespread. In such a case, an overcurrent exceeding the contract current will be generated in the indoor wiring, and the breaker will operate. If recording is being performed or a word processor or the like is being operated at such a time, a great deal of trouble will occur. Therefore, it is an object of the present invention to provide an overcurrent suppressing device that can further reduce the operation of the breaker as described above.

With the above configuration, the current flowing through the breaker is detected, and the output signal generated by the microcomputer based on the detected value is transmitted from the transmission circuit to the device.
Since the device that receives the signal suppresses its own input current, the current flowing through the breaker can be reduced, and the breaker can be cut off to some extent.

The current detection circuit 7 includes a current sensor (current transformer) 10 for detecting the current in the indoor wiring and a resistor R1.
The output voltage obtained from the midpoint of the current sensor 10 and the resistor R1 is composed of R2, R3, R4, diodes D1 and D2, capacitor C, etc.
In addition to being input to the start port of the microcomputer, the voltage is divided by the resistors 2 and R3 and is input to the A / D port of the microcomputer 8 via R4. The voltage Vcc is constantly applied to the microcomputer 8.
Although (5V) is applied, this voltage Vcc only holds a specific function inside the microcomputer, and the other circuits are in the sleep mode (power supply is stopped). It is designed to be activated when a voltage higher than a predetermined value is supplied to the activation port.

By the way, the capacity of the breaker 2 is, for example, 20.
Assuming ampere, the current sensor 10 and the resistor R1 are selected so that a predetermined output voltage can be obtained when the current flowing through the indoor wiring becomes, for example, 18 amperes, and the microcomputer 8 is started by this output voltage. At the same time, the input signal voltage from the A / D port is converted into a predetermined output signal and output to the transmission circuit 9. The transmission circuit 9 converts an input signal from the microcomputer 8 into, for example, an infrared signal and transmits it to the air conditioner 5. On the air conditioner 5 side, signal processing is performed by the same method as that for processing remote control signals, and the input current of the air conditioner 5 is suppressed by, for example, reducing the rotation speed of a compressor (not shown). If the transmission circuit 9 and the indoor unit of the air conditioner 5 are not in the same room and it is difficult to transmit to the indoor unit, the transmission may be performed by radio waves or wires. FIG. 2 shows another embodiment, which is different from FIG. 1 in that the current sensor 1 of the current detection circuit 7 is different.
That is, the variable resistor R0 is interposed between 0 and the resistor R1.
By doing so, the detection current corresponding to the capacity of the breaker 2 can be set.

The current detecting device as described above,
If there is an air conditioner equipped with the function of processing the output signal of the current detection device, the operation of the air conditioner will be sacrificed for the time being when the current flowing through the indoor wiring becomes large enough to exceed the capacity of the breaker. Since the current value can be suppressed, the breaker is prevented from shutting off. The microcomputer of the current detection device is designed so as not to start unless the detected current exceeds a predetermined value, so that the battery for the power supply is consumed less and the service life is extended.
