星システムとは、用途別に個別のシステムになっている
ので、呼量が僅かであってもそれぞれのシステムを設備
しなければならないという問題点がある。この問題点を
解決するため単一の交換局でサービスを実施すると、通
常各システムの設置場所が離れているため、各システム
への長距離中継用の回線が必要となり経済性を損うこと
になるという問題点がある。同様に、国土の広さに対し
人口が少ない国や小さな島の多い国等では、地上の回線
を設置することが実際上困難であるという問題がある。
