[Field of Industrial Application] The present invention puts waste generated from hospitals, clinics, pharmaceutical companies, medical inspection institutions, etc. (hereinafter referred to as "hospitals, etc.") in a robust metal container with a lid and hermetically stores it. The present invention relates to a method for treating wastes in which the wastes that have been collected and then directly charged into a metal melting furnace and melted do not come into contact with the human body.

2. Description of the Related Art Wastes generated from hospitals, etc., are different from ordinary garbage, and are treated as incinerators, washed, sterilized, etc. at hospitals, and then treated as wastes themselves, or treated safely. For goods, entrust a specialist who has a license for the processing industry in accordance with the standards of the "Waste Disposal and Cleaning Law" (Law No. 137, 1970) and take the waste container with you. After the waste is taken out, the container is generally collected again, returned to a hospital or the like, and repeatedly used.

However, in any of the conventional treatment methods (methods such as hospitals that perform treatment by themselves or methods entrusted to specialists for treatment), the problem that waste directly touches the human body during treatment There is. (This is a risk of secondary infections such as hepatitis B and AIDS.)
Furthermore, there is a risk that injection needles, etc., will be reused by a third party during storage after being processed by a hospital or the like, which makes storage management difficult. On the other hand, even professional companies have similar problems between the collection from hospitals and the like, and the processing. The present invention, in order to solve the above problems, put the waste in a robust metal container with a lid and store it in a sealed manner,
The whole container is directly charged into the metal melting furnace, and the waste and the metal container with the lid are incinerated and melted at the same time, so that the waste and the human body are not touched at all, and the management is safe during storage. The purpose is to provide a method for treating waste.

In order to achieve the above object, in the present invention, a syringe (glass, plastic), a syringe (metal), a drug container (glass, plastic, metal) discharged from a hospital or the like, Inspection equipment, gauze, cotton,
Bandages, medical equipment (equipment to which an inspection object is attached, X-ray film, cast, plaster, vinyl pipe), waste chemicals (waste chemicals, waste chemicals, developer), waste blood (solid, liquid), test sample ( Waste (urine, stool, blood, tissue), disposable diapers, paper, kitchen miscellaneous goods (sometimes referred to simply as "waste" in this specification) is placed in a robust metal container with a lid and sealed. And store it, collect the container in the storage state with a special car,
After unloading to a predetermined position indoors with a magnetic crane for receiving cargo, a hawk lift, etc. and storing, cover the metal melting furnace such as an electric furnace (simply referred to as "metal melting furnace") directly or into a scrap bucket for loading with a magnetic crane etc. The attached metal container is inserted together with other scraps, and the scrap bucket is charged into the metal melting furnace to burn and melt the waste and the container at the same time. Therefore, the metal container with a lid used in the present invention is not a one-way type, and is not collected and reused as a conventional container. The shape and the like of the outer shell of the lidded metal container are not particularly limited as long as the outer shell is made of metal and is robust and can be stored reliably.
In addition to the reason why it is made of metal, it also has the advantage that the loading work is easy because a magnet crane is used when loading with other scraps at the same time.

Next, the operation of the present invention will be described. The waste is collected, transported, and loaded together with the container in a robust metal container with a lid, and this work can be performed by mechanical means such as a lift or a magnetic crane so that the waste does not touch the human body at all. Therefore, the risk of secondary infections such as hepatitis B, AIDS, etc. can be completely prevented. In addition, since the treatment is performed in a high temperature range of at least 1400 ° C or higher, metal objects such as injection needles and drug containers Completely detoxifying treatment is possible because it completely dissolves and burns other wastes.

[Example] Iron plate thickness: 0.4 mm, diameter: 30 φcm,
A metal container with a lid for waste collection having a height of 36 cm was placed in each hospital or the like, and waste such as an injection needle was put into the container each time it was generated, and the lid was completely sealed and stored with a wire. The containers that were sealed and stored were loaded onto a private vehicle by a lift or the like and collected. Store the collected containers strictly in a designated storage area provided indoors. The stored container is loaded into a crumb cell type loading bucket together with other scraps together with a metal container with a lid by a magnetic crane, and then loaded in a 50T electric furnace at 160
Normal melting and refining was performed at a high temperature of 0 ° C or higher. Waste such as loaded needles and metal containers with lids soon burned or melted completely. For reference, the molten steel after tapping was sampled and analyzed, but the amount of waste treated was only 0.5% or less of the total scrap charge, and no influence on the molten steel composition was observed. There wasn't. As described above, in the process of the waste treatment method of the present invention, since there is no contact between the waste and the human body, the complete detoxification treatment can be established. Table 1 summarizes the comparison between the conventional treatment method of waste generated from hospitals and the like and the treatment method of the present invention.

Since the present invention is constructed as described above, it has the following effects. Waste generated from hospitals is stored in a metal container with a robust lid, stored and collected in a sealed state, and the container is melted and completely burned in a metal melting furnace, so there is no process in which the waste comes into contact with the human body. In addition, since the metal such as the injection needle in the waste does not remain as a residue in the same shape as when incinerated, the waste can be detoxified very safely. Further, since the container for storing the waste is made of metal, the container can be easily and safely transferred by a transfer means such as a magnet crane, and especially in the step of charging the metal melting furnace, a scrap charging device, etc. The steelmaking equipment of can be diverted as it is, and the processing cost of waste can be reduced. Furthermore, although the metal container with a lid is disposable, it can be easily regenerated as a steel material by being melted together with the metal contained in the waste in a metal melting furnace, so resources can be recycled without a special process, and glass etc. Since the other non-combustible substances are discharged as slag, it is possible to safely and easily treat the residue, which also reduces the treatment cost of the waste.
