FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing a conventional carrier sheet disclosed in, for example, Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 60-25267, in which 1 is a cover sheet made of a transparent or matte translucent film and 2 is its cover sheet. The mount is made of paper or plastic. In an apparatus for moving an original such as a facsimile, an easily damaged original such as thin paper or an original such as carbon paper that easily stains the apparatus is sandwiched between a cover sheet 1 of a carrier sheet and a backing sheet 2 and made to travel. At this time, of course, the original surface is placed so that it faces the cover sheet.

Next, the operation will be described. The original sandwiched between the carrier sheets is conveyed by the driving roller 5 and travels in the direction of the arrow. When the leading edge of the carrier sheet reaches the reading point 9 after turning on the switch 4, the photoelectric converter 8 reads the original. Start.
When the rear end of the carrier sheet passes through the switch 4, the switch 4 detects this, and when the rear end of the carrier sheet reaches the reading point 9, the photoelectric converter 8 finishes the reading.

By the way, FIG. 3 shows an example in which a conventional A4 size carrier sheet is sandwiched with an A5 size original 10, and the dotted diagonal line portion is the original part. When such a carrier sheet is run through the apparatus shown in FIG. 4, the switch 4 detects the beginning and end of the carrier sheet without detecting the beginning and end of the document, so that the photoelectric converter 8 does not detect anything other than the document. There is a drawback in that the communication time is unnecessarily lengthened in the case of reading a necessary part and facsimile, and the user has to pay a useless communication charge.

Further, conventionally, there are some which are provided with a plurality of holes for detecting the length of the document, but in this case, when the trailing edge of the document comes between the holes, the length of the document cannot be strictly detected. Further, if the continuous holes are used, there is a serious drawback that the rigidity of the carrier sheet is remarkably lowered and weakened.

The present invention has been made to solve the above problems. For example, as shown in FIG. 3, even if a document such as A5 size is sandwiched between carrier sheets of A4 size, the start and end of the document are not changed. It is an object of the present invention to obtain a highly reliable carrier sheet that can be accurately detected and does not cause deterioration in rigidity.

[Embodiment] An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a view corresponding to FIG. 3, in which a strip-shaped reflective tape 11 which is continuous over the entire length along the running direction of the carrier sheet is attached to a part of the middle of the mount 2.

In this way, light is not reflected at the portion hidden by the document 10, so that the length of the document can be accurately detected by detecting the reflected light.

However, in this case, the switch 4 is not a mechanical switch, but it is necessary to use a switch in which a light projector and an optical switch for detecting reflected light are combined, and a reflection plate for reflecting is provided below the guide 3. It is necessary to provide. In addition to the reflective tape 11, the same effect can be obtained by providing a reflective portion by means such as printing.

As described above, according to the present invention, by providing a continuous strip-shaped reflection portion for detecting the original length of the carrier sheet in the middle of the mount of the carrier sheet, the length of the arbitrary length inserted into the carrier sheet can be increased. The original can be detected accurately, and even if an original shorter than the carrier sheet is inserted into the carrier sheet, the entire length of the carrier sheet is not read and transmitted. It is possible to accurately read and transmit only the length without making any difference, and therefore, it is possible to eliminate waste of communication cost. Further, the same effect can be obtained in the case of a document narrower than the carrier sheet.
