本考案は自動車の尾灯/制動灯灯具に関するものであ
り、詳細にはLED素子を光源とした尾灯/制動灯灯具に

決が課題とされるものとなっていた。

と尾灯専用とした専用部とに分割し、前記灯具内に前記
専用部を中央に配置すると共に該専用部を挾むように上
下両側に前記切換部を配置し、前記専用部と前記切換部
との間には夫々隔壁が設けられて上下に三分割されてい
ることを特徴とするLED光源の尾灯/制動灯灯具を提供
することで、前記した従来の課題を解決するものであ
る。

つぎに、本考案を図に示す一実施例に基づいて詳細に説
明する。 第1図、第2図に符号1で示すものは本考案に係る尾灯
/制動灯灯具(以下に灯具1と略称する)であり、この
灯具1は基板3に搭載されたLED素子2を光源として採
用するものである点は従来例のものと同様であるが、本
考案により前記基板3は尾灯と制動灯とに切換が行われ
る切換部31と、尾灯専用とした専用部32とに分割されて
形成されるものとなっている。 また、本考案によりハウジング4はその内部に隔壁41が
設けられるものとされ、該隔壁41とレンズ5とにより前
記切換部31と専用部32とは区分された状態で前記ハウジ
ング4中に取付けられるものとなり、このときにハウジ
ング4は、例えば水平方向に三分割され、前記専用部32
はハウジング4の中央部に配設され、前記切換部31は上
下端に配設される、即ち、前記切換部31の二枚により前
記専用部32を挟むようにして上下端に配設される。 次いで、上記の構成とした本考案の灯具1の作用効果に
ついて説明を行えば、先ず前記専用部32は専らに尾灯の
みを受け持てば良いものとなるので、該専用部32に配設
されるLED素子2の数は少なくすること、あるいは同一
密度であれば低電流で駆動することが可能となり、温度
上昇も少なく、前記切換部31により上下から挟まれる構
成とし、連続点灯を行っても従来例で生じた中央部の輝
度低下を生ずることはない。 また、前記切換部31においては制動灯としての目的に対
応するために比較的に高密度にLED素子2が配設される
ものとなり、尾灯として低電流で駆動されている場合に
おいても温度上昇を生じ易いものとなっているが、本考
案により分割されて小面積化されたこと及び灯具1の上
下端外側に配設されたことによる冷却作用の向上により
例え長時間制動灯を点灯し続けるときにも前記した輝度
低下は生じない。 尚、前記切換部31を制動灯用として点灯した場合には確
かに多量の発熱を生ずるものとなるので、高輝度LED等
と称されている駆動電流当たりの発光効率の高いLED素
子2をこの切換部31に採用することで発熱を抑制し、目
的に対し一層の好結果が得られるものとなる。 また、上記構成としたことにより制動灯の点灯時には灯
具1の前記切換部31に対応する部分のみが高輝度で光輝
する(第1図参照)ものとなるが、前記切換部31に制動
灯としての規定の面積を有するものとすることで実用上
に問題は生じない。

配設するものとし、加えて比較的に温度上昇を生じ易い
切換部とは隔壁を設けることで熱伝導を減少させ、以
て、この種の灯具に生じ易い中央部の照度低下を無くし
て違和感を無くし実用性を高めると云う優れた効果を奏
するものである。
