Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a good recording with no mixing of wiped inks by arranging a wiper piece for an extrusion outlet for another recording color so as to shift it from the lower side in the vertical direction of the lower end part of a wiper piece provided for each recording color. 法が考えられる。この方法は、記録ヘッドとワイパー片
とが加圧接触し、かつ相対的に移動することによって記
録ヘッド吐出口面についたインク滴を拭い取るものであ
る。互いに記録色の異なる複数のインク吐出口を有する
記録ヘッドが鉛直方向に並べて配置されているインクジ
ェット記録装置における記録ヘッドのインク吐出面のク
リーニング装置について図7を用いて説明する。1は不
図示の駆動源により回転駆動されるドラムであり、該ド
ラム1の外周部の記録紙取付け面2に対向して、記録紙
取付け面2の円周方向に複数の記録ヘッド3が、記録紙
取付け面2に対して適正間隔を保持して鉛直方向に並べ
て配置されている。前記記録ヘッド3は支持手段4に固
定されており、支持手段4は案内手段5に摺動自在に嵌
合されている。これにより前記記録ヘッド3は前記ドラ
ム1の回転と前記支持手段4を案内手段5上で摺動させ
ることによって、前記記録紙取付け面2に巻付けられた
不図示の記録紙に記録を行う。一方、前記ドラム1の外
側には、前記記録ヘッド3に対向して記録ヘッド吐出口
面と干渉可能な位置にワイパー片6を設け、該ワイパー
片6は支持手段7に配置してある。このような構成にお
いて、記録ヘッド3がドラム1外側の記録領域外のワイ
パー片6と当接する位置に達すると、記録ヘッド3の前
面に付着したインク滴を拭い取る。また、図8は前記記
録ヘッドの他の従来例を示す斜視図である。記録色の異
なる記録ヘッド3’はそれぞれ水平方向に並んでおり、
これを案内手段5上で往復摺動させて主走査を行い、さ
らに主走査と異なる方向に記録紙を副走査しながら記録
