Abstract

PURPOSE:To clean the surface of a magnetic head in a simple and sure way and also not to leave any stain of an abrasive material, etc., in a card reader by providing alternately the abrasive and adhesive layers on the surface of a card base material. CONSTITUTION:SiO2 powder, i.e., an abrasive material 3 and a silicone adhesive 2 are alternately applied on the magnetic stripes of a general magnetic card. Accordingly, both abrasive and adhesive layers alternately pass the surface of a magnetic head with use of a cleaning card. As a result, the surface of the magnetic head is surely cleaned and the used material 3 and the stains are surely adsorbed by the adhesive 2 and never remain in a card reader. In this example, the material 3 and the adhesive 2 are applied to only a part that touches the magnetic head in the defined card inserting direction. However these material and adhesive can be applied to the entire surface of the card in stripes. In this case, the card inserting direction is not defined to be in a single direction but in two directions. Thus, the service life of the cleaning card is approximately doubled.

2. Description of the Related Art Today, various cards are used, which is exactly what is called a card society. Most of the cards currently used are magnetic cards of the magnetic recording type, but IC cards are emerging as next-generation cards. I
Many C cards also use a magnetic card with a magnetic stripe. Card readers that read the magnetic signals of such magnetic cards and IC cards are not always installed in a clean environment, and are constantly soiled with dust and dirt at the installation site. In particular, in a magnetic head that detects a magnetic signal by contacting the magnetic medium on the card surface, erroneous detection of the signal due to dirt on the magnetic head surface is the main cause of trouble with the card reader. Keeping it clean has become an important issue.

FIG. 3 is a sectional view of a cleaning card used for cleaning the surface of a magnetic head of a conventional card reader. A conventional cleaning card is shown in Figure 3.
As shown in (a), the card substrate 1 is made of Al 2 O 3 or SiO.
A dry type cleaning card containing a powdery abrasive material 3a such as 2 and a non-woven fabric 5 is attached to a card substrate 1 as shown in FIG. There is a wet cleaning card. These cleaning cards have the following drawbacks. In the former dry method, when the magnetic head is cleaned, the dirt and abraded material left behind remain in the card reader, which may cause troubles. In the latter wet method, there are drawbacks that the cleaning ability is weak against dirt adhered to the surface of the magnetic head, and the cleaning work is complicated because a cleaning liquid is required.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention ensures that a magnetic head surface is reliably cleaned with an abrasive material by alternately providing a polishing layer and an adhesive layer on the surface of a card substrate. , A cleaning card that absorbs abrasives and stains used as an adhesive and does not leave stains inside the card reader. That is, the cleaning card is characterized in that a polishing layer and an adhesive layer are alternately provided in the card advancing direction on the surface of the card substrate.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is an external perspective view and sectional view of a cleaning card of the present invention. As shown in FIGS. 1 (a) and 1 (b), a SiO 2 powder as an abrasive 3 and a silicone adhesive 2 are alternately applied to a portion having a magnetic stripe in a general magnetic card. . 1 is a card base material. In the present embodiment, the card insertion direction is limited, and the polishing layer and the adhesive layer are provided only on the portions that come into contact with the magnetic head, but they may be provided in stripes on the entire surface of the card. In that case, the direction of card insertion is not limited, and there are two directions, and the life of the cleaning card is approximately doubled.

FIG. 2 shows an enlarged cross section of the card after cleaning the magnetic head using the cleaning card of the present invention. Abrasive powder and dirt 4 are attached to the surface of the adhesive layer. Therefore, in the card reader,
No residue of abrasive powder or dirt. In this example, SiO 2 powder was used as the abrasive and silicone was used as the adhesive. However, it is not limited to these as long as it has the function of polishing and adhesion, such as Al 2 O 3 and varnish. Not something.
