Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a power source of a long lifetime and a high energy saving property where only a light emitting source can be replaced by incorporating a high frequency generator inside an intermediate socket. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate socket 2 contains therein a high frequency generator 4 for generating high frequency with application of a current from a base 3 to be screwed into a normal domestic 100V socket 1, and is provided with a base 6 for supplying the generated high frequency to a bulb 5, which encloses therein a gas body 7 such as argon or metal halide including mercury capable of generating an ultraviolet ray by the high frequency and is provided therein with a transparent glass bulb 9 coated with fluorescent substance 8 serving as a light emitter. The glass bulb 9 is provided at the upper portion with a base 10 screwed to the socket 6 in connection, for transmitting the high frequency to the inside of the bulb. The ultraviolet ray generated from the gas excites the fluorescent substance 8, thus radiating visible illumination light through the glass bulb 9.

2. Description of the Related Art Filament bulbs, fluorescent lamps and E lamps are known as light sources. Filament bulbs and fluorescent lamps have a short life. Since the parts are expensive and the process is complicated, the cost is remarkably increased, and all of them are discarded by replacement, so that there is a drawback that the maintenance cost is high.

According to the present invention, a light emitting body is applied to the inner surface of a glass ball or the like to fill a gas in an intermediate socket which can be joined to a conventional ordinarily used light bulb socket and which contains a high frequency generating portion. And a light bulb that emits light by the high frequency is joined.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of the present invention, 1 is a household 100 volt socket used in a conventional filament light bulb, 2 is an intermediate socket, and a base 3 is screwed into the socket 1 for connection. It has a built-in circuit of a high frequency generator 4 which is supplied with electric power and generates a high frequency, and has a socket 6 for supplying the high frequency to the electric bulb 5. The light bulb 5 is filled with a gas body 7 such as mercury-containing argon or a metal halide, which emits ultraviolet rays by the high frequency, and is screwed into a transparent glass bulb 9 coated with a fluorescent substance 8 as a light emitting body and a socket 6. Connected to each other and transmitting a high frequency to the gas in the bulb, the ultraviolet rays generated from the gas excite the fluorescent substance 8 and the visible illumination light is emitted from the glass bulb 9.

FIG. 2 shows another embodiment of the present invention, in which an intermediate socket 11 is replaced with the socket 6 of the above-mentioned example, a spring 12 for narrowing it into a hole shape, and a high frequency wave from a high frequency generator 4.
It has a mirror 13 that fires at the gas body 7. Instead of the base 10 of the light bulb 5, the light bulb 14 has a mushroom-shaped glass sealing end 15 of a glass bulb 9 which is detachably fitted into a spring 12 so as to be sandwiched so that the light bulb 14 is locked to the intermediate socket 11 and a high frequency is generated by the mirror 13. It is supposed to tell Gas 7.

As described above, according to the present invention, a high-frequency generating unit and a light bulb which emits light due to the high frequency can be detachably connected to each other. Therefore, maintenance cost can be reduced by replacing only the bulb having a long life. It can be used for a short time and for a long time. or,
Energy can be saved because the light is emitted by excitation from a gas body regardless of the filament.
