To attach the caulking boss 50 to the metal plate 60, as shown in FIG. 3A, the metal plate 60 is placed on the lower mold 70 and the insertion portion 53 is inserted into the hole 61 of the metal plate 60. It is performed by pressing the head 52 into the metal plate 60 with the punch 80 so that the head 52 is flat against the one surface 60a of the metal plate 60 in the inserted state. With this,
As shown in (b), the metal plate 6 that receives the pressure of the head 52
A part 62 of 0 goes into the groove 56. In this case, the cross-sectional shape of the groove 56 is a triangle with the standing surface 52a of the head 52 as the bottom side. Therefore, the part 62 of the metal plate that enters the groove portion 56 goes from the entrance of the groove part having the largest area to the inner part of the groove part where the area gradually becomes smaller. It can enter without any contact, and the contact area between the part 62 of the metal plate and the wall surface of the groove 56 becomes large. Further, the peripheral edge portion of the insertion portion front end surface 53a spreads outward under the pressure of the lower mold 70, and the peripheral edge portion 53b is caulked on the other surface 60b side of the metal plate 60.
Therefore, the caulking boss 50 is firmly connected to the metal plate 60. Although the caulking boss 50 is formed with the screw hole 51 in this example, the hole may be a ridiculous hole.

In the caulking boss 50A of this example, the metal plate 60
Since the other surface 60b side cannot be caulked, the bonding strength with the metal plate 60 is lower than in the first embodiment, but the contact area between the part 62 of the metal plate and the wall surface of the groove 56 is large. Therefore, as compared with the conventional caulking boss 10, the bonding strength with the metal plate is large. Further, it is characterized in that the thickness of the metal plate 60 is not restricted by the height of the insertion portion 53A.

FIG. 5 is a diagram showing a third embodiment of the present invention. The caulking boss 50B of this example is the same as that of the first embodiment except that the groove 56B formed on the peripheral surface of the insertion portion 53 and at the boundary with the head portion 52 has a rectangular cross section. It is composed. In this example, since the groove 56B has a quadrangular cross section, it is difficult for the part 62 of the metal plate to enter the groove 56B. Therefore, the bonding strength with the metal plate 60 is inferior to that of the groove 56 having a triangular cross section. Since the other surface 60b of the plate 60 can also be caulked to the metal plate 60, the bonding strength with the metal plate is significantly larger than that of the conventional caulking boss 10. When the caulking boss 50B of the present example is compared with the caulking boss 50 of the first embodiment, the first groove portion 56B
