Here, in the case of the developing device for replenishing the toner in the line along the axial direction of the developing sleeve as described above,
Since the toner is uniformly supplied in the axial direction of the developing sleeve, the toner concentration in the developer does not become uneven when the toner is supplied, but the size of the device becomes large, and the toner is partially dispersed. When an image that consumes a lot is formed, only the toner in the developer in that portion is consumed in a large amount, and the toner density in that portion lowers. If images are continuously formed, the image density in that portion significantly decreases. There was a problem.

Here, in the developing device of the present invention, the height of the partition wall in the portion which reaches the end portions of the first and second conveying sections without being opened as described above is determined by the first conveying section and the second conveying section. When adjusting the height of the developer in the transport section so that it can pass over this partition wall, an appropriate amount of developer is sequentially passed over the partition wall on the end side where the partition wall is not opened, and then the first transport section. From the first transport unit to the second transport unit and from the second transport unit to the first transport unit, and the developer does not deviate between the first transport unit and the second transport unit. It is necessary to set so that the sheet is smoothly conveyed and circulated between the second conveying section and the second conveying section.

Here, in the developing device according to the present invention, at least one end of the partition wall is provided up to the end of the first and second conveying portions without opening as described above, and the end side is provided. Since the height of the partition wall at is such that the developer in the first transport section and the second transport section can pass over this partition wall, the end of the partition wall is opened to increase the height. As in the case of the above, not all of the developer is sent from the first transport section to the second transport section and from the second transport section to the first transport section through the opened end portion of the partition wall, but the partition wall is On the side of the lower end that is not opened, the developer sequentially crosses the partition wall before reaching the end and from the first transport unit to the second transport unit and from the second transport unit to the first transport unit. Will be sent.
