Abstract

PURPOSE:To embed a tensile strength material in a core of a hand rail, which is formed by laminating decorative rubber on the top surface of a core formed by laminating plural canvas clothes, by arranging a canvas cloth, which is obtained by weaving tensile strength material as a warp, in the core along the longitudinal direction of a hand rail. CONSTITUTION:A hand rail is used for a moving hand rail for escalator or the like. In a hand rail, decorative rubber 3 is laminated on the top surface of a core 4, which is formed by laminating plural canvas clothes 41-43 and which has a nearly C-shape cross section. In this case, a canvas sloth 5, in which a tensile strength material is woven as a warp, is arranged inside of a core 4 along the longitudinal direction of a hand rail. As a tensile strength material, one kind selected among steel cord, polyester cord, aliphatic polyamide cord, aromatic polyamide cord, glass fiber cord is used. In the canvas cloth, a thread made of one kind selected among cotton thread, polyester thread, polyvinyl alcoholic thread is woven as a weft.

In FIG. 3, reference numeral 1 denotes a core body having a substantially C-shaped cross section, and the core body 1 is formed by laminating and bonding a plurality of thick woven canvases. In this case, both sides of the canvas are coated with a rubber paste or a thin unvulcanized rubber sheet is topped. Then, after stacking the canvas, the core body 1 having a substantially C-shaped cross section is formed by press vulcanization or the like at a high temperature. Further, in FIG. 3, reference numeral 2 is a strength member, and when the strength members 2 are laminated with a plurality of thick woven fabrics, a plurality of the strength members 2 are arranged so as to be straight and parallel in the longitudinal direction to the intermediate layer of the plurality of fabrics. It is embedded. The strength member 2 used in this case is a steel cord.

However, in such a conventional handrail, it is extremely troublesome to embed the tensile strength members 2 in the core body 1 in parallel at equal intervals in a straight line without meandering and so as not to overlap with each other. It was a major obstacle to improving sex. Further, if the tensile strength member meanders or is embedded, the tensile strength and dimensional accuracy of the handrail will deteriorate.

In the handrail of the present invention, since the canvas body woven with the tensile body as the warp yarn is provided inside the core body, the canvas body itself plays the role of the conventional tensile body. Since it is in the form of a single sheet, the work of embedding it inside the core can be performed quickly and extremely easily, and as a result, the productivity, tensile strength and dimensional accuracy of the handrail can be significantly improved.

The handrail of one embodiment of the present invention thus obtained has a high productivity because the workability of embedding the canvas body 5 is excellent at the time of manufacturing, and the handrail body 5 is manufactured after manufacturing.
Exhibits a high tensile strength because it is firmly bonded straight between the upper and lower canvases 41 and 42 without meandering through the thread 52 having good adhesiveness. Moreover, since there is no meandering embedding of the strength member 2 as in the conventional case, the thickness accuracy of the handrail can be significantly improved.
