Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent intrusion of mist by installing an airtight panel along each side of a roadway, and forming an air curtain in the area between the two panels when mist is generated. CONSTITUTION:When mist is generated, a drive motor is started, and external air compressed by a blower 6 is supplied to a duct 5 via a wind sending pipe 8 and distribution pipe 9. The compressed air is spouted from a nozzle 10 to over the central part of the road so that an air curtain is generated, and the area over the road space Y is shielded from the external air. Thereby the road space is shielded with the air curtain and a wind panel 3, and thereby external air containing mist is precluded from intruding to the space.

2. Description of the Related Art As is well known, it is very dangerous to drive a car in fog because the driver's view is obstructed. As it decreases over time, it is likely to cause a serious accident. In other words, when driving at high speeds, a large amount of fog drops hit the windshield, resulting in poorer visibility than when driving at low speeds, and even when the driver discovers a preceding vehicle or obstacle, these preceding vehicles are avoided. Since the time that can be created is shortened, the risk is high, and at night, the light from the headlight diffuses into the fog droplets, causing a so-called "light curtain phenomenon", which reduces the contrast in the front and reduces the visibility of the driver. The distance will be extremely degraded.

This situation will be described in detail with reference to FIG. 5, which is a road map showing the relationship between the altitude and distance of the Kan-etsu Expressway and National Highway No. 17 that extends substantially parallel to it. It is understood that the dense fog around this area frequently occurs throughout the year in the Akagi Plateau of the Kan-etsu Expressway and in the Misaka-Ohashi area of National Route 17, which is a general road. For example, according to the statistics of the expressway administrator in 1993, due to the thick fog in the Akagi Plateau area, Kanetsu Motors has been closed for about 40 times (about 500 hours),
Due to the detour to Route 17, etc., time and economic loss are emphasized. Of course, such a thick fog is on the highway 17
Although it has also occurred in the Misaka Ohashi area of the issue, only measures to display a warning sign for fog generation are taken on general roads.

In order to ensure the visibility of the road condition at the time of fog as described above, it has been attempted to arrange a large number of halogen spotlights A along the median strip B as shown in FIG. ing. That is, these spotlights A are attached to a pole C having a height of about 1.5 m, and are aimed at an angle of 120 degrees in the traveling direction of the automobile and 77 degrees with respect to the vertical direction without causing a curtain phenomenon. In addition, the road surface D and the rain mark E are intended to be locally illuminated.

[0006] However, even if such a countermeasure using the spotlight A is effective in improving the visibility of the road surface condition when fog occurs, it is almost ineffective when the fog occurs, so that when the fog with a visibility of 50 m or less occurs. It wasn't a measure against traffic closure.

Since the fog-prevention equipment according to the first embodiment has the above-described structure, the drive motor 7 is started when the thick fog is generated, and the outside air compressed by the blower 6 is blown by the blower pipe 8 and the distribution pipe. Only by supplying the compressed air duct 5 via 9, it is possible to prevent the outside air containing fog from entering the road space Y. That is, since both sides of the road space Y are shielded from the outside by the windbreak panel 3, the air curtain formed by the air jets from the air jet nozzles 10 shields the upper part of the road space Y from the outside air, thereby preventing fog. It is possible to completely prevent the included outside air from entering the road space Y, and prevent the deterioration of the visibility in the road space Y due to fog.

Of course, it is not necessary to start the drive motor 7 except when a thick fog is generated, so the running cost is low. That is, in a normal state, the upper part of the road space Y is open to the outside air, so not only is there a feeling of openness,
Since the convection between the road space Y and the outside air naturally occurs,
There is no need for special ventilation equipment.

Since the fog-prevention equipment according to the second embodiment has the above-mentioned structure, the road space Y is formed by the air curtain formed by the air jets jetted from the air jet nozzles 10A of both the compressed air ducts 5A when the fog is generated. As in the case of the first embodiment, it is possible to prevent the fog from entering the road space Y and improve the visibility of the road space Y because the outside air can be blocked.

In the fog-prevention equipment according to the second embodiment, when the fog is generated, the moisture of the outside air having high humidity is removed by the dehumidifier 12, and then the blower 6 sends the compressed air to the compressed air duct 5A. Even in the case of low, it is possible to prevent fog generation and dew condensation in the road space Y. In this case, it is obvious that if the warmer 13 is attached to the suction side of the blower 6, the dew condensation phenomenon and the fog generation in the road space Y can be sufficiently suppressed.

As is apparent from the above description, according to the present invention, the air curtain formed when fog occurs completely shuts off the outside air containing fog from the road space, and the thick fog enters the road space. Therefore, the visibility of the road space can be maintained in a good state, and the time and economic loss due to the traffic regulation and traffic closure can be prevented. Further, the fog-preventing equipment for an automobile road according to the present invention has a lower equipment cost than the tunnel structure and requires only a remote operation of the blower, which is advantageous in terms of running cost.
