【特許請求の範囲】[Claims] 【請求項1】 第1ユニットと、前記第1ユニットに回
動自在に支持され、開閉可能な第2ユニットと、前記第
1ユニットまたは前記第2ユニットに支持され、前記第
2ユニットが開いているときの第1の位置と、閉じてい
るときの第2の位置と、に回転可能な回転部材と、一端
は前記回転部材に支持され、他端は前記回転部材が支持
されているユニットに支持され、前記回転部材に付勢力
を与える付勢部材と、を有する画像形成装置において、 前記付勢部材は、前記回転部材が第1の位置と第2の位
置との間を移動するときに、前記回転部材の回転軸に対
して周方向に巻き付いて伸縮することを特徴とする画像
形成装置。
