(Prior Art) Adhesive is applied in the case of manufacturing adhesive paper. The adhesive paper is handled by stacking it with the release paper, and is used by peeling off the release paper when sticking to the object. Since such a pressure-sensitive adhesive paper is generally coated with an adhesive material on the entire back surface, it is difficult to peel off the release paper during use, and this is a problem when a large amount of tackiness is to be applied. In addition, when handling a large amount of cargo by courier etc., the tag is made of adhesive paper and is automatically attached to the luggage, but in such a case, when the adhesive paper sticks to the release paper entirely, It is difficult to peel off the release paper mechanically, which is a bottleneck in operation. Therefore, it is necessary not to apply the adhesive material to a part of the adhesive paper. One of the methods of manufacturing a large amount of adhesive paper with such partial coating is to transfer the adhesive material to the base paper of the adhesive paper by providing the coating roll of the roll coater where the adhesive material is applied with a zone without adhesive material Then, attach release paper to such adhesive paper,
This is to make a vertical cut in the part of the adhesive paper that does not have an adhesive material. In order to form a portion having no adhesive material on the coating roll, a method of uniformly adhering the adhesive material on a flat roll and then scraping off an unnecessary portion of the adhesive material with a doctor knife is used. However, with the method of scraping with a doctor knife, the part of the coating roll that is in contact with the doctor knife wears and dents into a band, and when the width of the adhesive paper is changed, the dented part has a more adhesive layer than the other parts. Since the thickness becomes thicker and is transferred to the base paper of the adhesive paper, the film thickness of the adhesive material of the adhesive paper becomes non-uniform, causing a defect. For this reason, the coating roll often requires re-polishing and plating. In addition, the doctor knife also wears, so it must be replaced frequently, which reduces the efficiency of the coating operation. When the width of the non-coated part is changed slightly, for example, when the initially planned width of the non-coated part is 10 mm, when the liquid applied on the web is sandwiched between the roll and the web due to the liquid thickness. , The non-coated part of 10 mm or less always appears due to the squeeze out of the liquid. For that reason, the doctor blade is supposed to form a wide non-coating with that in mind, but it was very difficult because it slightly changed due to variations in the coating amount, coating speed, viscosity, and concentration. . If it failed, it was necessary to recreate the doctor, and its responsiveness and operability were extremely low.

(Problems to be Solved by the Invention) The present invention has the above-described problems that occur when a coating material adhered to a coating roll is scraped off by a doctor knife in partial coating of a high-viscosity coating material using a roll coater. The present invention aims to provide an efficient coating apparatus that does not have such a problem, and particularly to provide a coating apparatus that can delicately control the width of a portion of the roll coater where the coating material is not applied.

(Means for Solving the Problem) In a coating roll arranged in the vicinity of a blowing slit for flowing out the coating material extending in parallel with the axis of the coating roll, and in a portion of the coating roll where the coating material is not attached, , Insert a strip-shaped thin plate that is tapered so that the width toward the tip becomes narrow in the gap between the coating roll and the slit so that it can move forward and backward, and wind the rear end around the rotating shaft as a means to move the thin plate forward and backward. By driving the rotary shaft with a motor, the tapered portion of the thin plate can be moved back and forth between the coating roll and the slit.

(Operation) The high-viscosity coating material is extruded from the slit and adheres to the coating roll. The appearance is that the sheet of high-viscosity substance extruded from the slit shows the extrusion speed and the peripheral speed of the coating roll. It is the same as being stretched by the difference and wound on a coating roll. In the present invention, a thin plate having an arbitrary width is formed between the slit and the coating roll, but the thin plate is pressed against the coating roll by the pressure of the coating material blown out from the slit to form a part without the coating material on the coating roll. To be done. Unlike scraping off the coating material once attached to the coating roll like a doctor knife, the thin plate is only in contact with the coating roll due to the pressure of the coating material blown out from the slit, so the thin plate also applies to the coating roll. Does not cause wear and does not require replacement of thin plates. Moreover, the shape of this thin plate is a wedge shape with the tip gradually becoming thinner, and the thin plate can be taken in and out according to the width of the part where the coating material does not adhere, so the width of the non-coated part can be adjusted delicately and quickly. Became possible. Further, as a means for inserting and removing the thin plate, the rear end of the strip-shaped thin plate is wound around the rotary shaft and the tip of the thin plate is advanced and retracted by rotating the rotary shaft, which is mechanically simple and allows the front and rear position adjustment of the thin plate. It is easy, and the thin plate that has been wound up is advanced and retracted by retracting it, so the amount of advance / retreat can be increased, and therefore the taper gradient at the tip of the thin plate can be made gentle and the width of the unpainted strip can be adjusted. Can be easily and subtly done.

The thin plate holder 7 has a flat through hole 71 through which the thin plate 6 is inserted and is guided forward and backward, and a rotary shaft 72 for winding the rear end portion of the thin plate 6 passing through the through hole. The thin plate 6 can be moved in and out by turning. The rotating shaft 72 is driven by the motor 9, and the motor 9 is rotated in the forward or reverse direction by manually operating the forward / backward switch 10.
By manually operating the switch 10, the thin plate 6 can be moved back and forth to adjust the width of the non-coated portion. The operator monitors the width of the non-coated portion of the web W coated with the adhesive material and adjusts the amount of the thin plate 6 coming in and out so that the width is within a predetermined dimensional tolerance. Instead of manually adjusting the entrance and exit of the thin plate 6, the width of the non-coated portion of the coated web is photoelectrically detected and the detected value is compared with the reference value, and the width of the non-coated portion becomes the reference value. It is also possible to automate the motor 9 so as to rotate.

(Effects of the Invention) The coating apparatus of the present invention has the above-described configuration, and since the coating roll and the thin plate do not rub against each other like a doctor knife, they both have a long service life and can be polished. , No need to interrupt work such as plating and replacement,
Since the thin plate is efficient and can be inserted at an arbitrary position in the gap between the coating roll and the slit, it is possible to easily cope with a place where the adhesive is not applied and a change in width. or,
By making the tip of the thin plate tapered and inserting and removing the thin plate, the width of the non-coated part can be adjusted subtly. This means that even if a conventional coating roll has a non-coated portion with a certain width, if the concentration, viscosity, or coating speed of the coating material changes, the width of the non-coated portion will change subtly. Although the treatment was difficult, the present invention solved all at once and enabled stable and efficient operation.
