Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate troubles such as occupation of a heat-insulated tank due to the parallel arrangement of a vertical protecting tube with an earth bar, consumption of the earth bar by forming a vertical protecting tube of a thermocouple of the refractory material of conductor, and also using the protecting tube as the earth bar. CONSTITUTION:The upper end of a vertical protecting pipe 10 made of a refractory material of conductor, which is mainly composed of titanium boride, to a lower end of a hollow vertical pipe 5 made of conductor such as stainless steel through a connecting socket 7 made of stainless steel. This connection is carefully performed by screwing of the pipe 5 with the protecting pipe 10, fastening by a locking screw 15 made of stainless steel, insertion of Ni base paste 16 or the like so as to prevent the contact failure. A thermocouple element 19 coated with an insulating material 20 such as alumina is housed in the pipe 5 and the protecting pipe 10, and a connecting cord 4 is connected to the upper part of the pipe 5, and the vertical protecting pipe 10 is also used as the earth bar.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, thermocouples have been used to measure the temperature of molten metal in a furnace such as an aluminum automatic hot water supply furnace, an aluminum die cast casting furnace, or a surface level control furnace. 1 and 2 show an example of a known aluminum die casting casting furnace, in which a is a charging section for charging a molten aluminum and an ingot, b is a gas burner for melting the charged ingot, and c is a molten ingot. A damper that floats the oxide from the molten metal and allows only the molten metal to flow, d is a slit formed in the damper c, e is a heat retaining tank provided in the center, and f is heat retaining metal molten metal in the heat retaining tank e. The immersion heater, j is a pumping chamber, and a thermocouple h for measuring the temperature of the molten metal and a ground rod i for removing the charge are provided in the heat retaining tank e. The known thermocouple h has a shape in which the outer circumference of the element of the thermocouple for temperature measurement is surrounded by a non-conductor vertical protection tube such as silicon nitride, and the earth rod i for removing the charge is formed of a conductor and The protection tube h and the ground rod i were arranged in parallel at a desired interval.

The above-mentioned known example is deficient in that the element of the thermocouple h housed in the vertical protection tube and the earth rod i for removing the charge are arranged in parallel at a desired interval. There is. Since the vertical protection tube and the ground rod i are provided side by side, the heat-retaining tank e, which is not so large, is occupied by the vertical protection tube and the ground rod i. Further, since the earth rod i is formed of a conductor, it is usually a metal rod such as stainless steel,
If this is directly immersed in the molten metal, there is a problem that it is severely damaged and is consumed in a short period of time. Therefore, in the present application, the vertical protective tube of the thermocouple is formed of a refractory material of a conductor to serve also as a ground rod, and the vertical protective tube and the ground rod are arranged side by side in terms of volume and short-term of the ground rod. This is to prevent the disadvantage of exhaustion. Further, in the present application, by forming the vertical protective tube with a refractory material of a conductor and also serving as a ground rod, the problem of contact failure that newly occurs is caused by Ni (nickel) base paste, stainless steel spring and stainless steel. It was overcome by the use of screws.

[Operation] Next, the operation will be described. The aluminum ingot charged into the charging chamber 22 is melted by the gas burner 23, and the molten metal flows into the greenhouse 26 through the slit 25 of the damper 24 while leaving suspended matter. Since the vertical protection tube 10 having the thermocouple element 19 built therein is immersed in the molten metal in the greenhouse 26, the temperature is measured at the exposed portion 21 of the thermocouple element 19 in the vertical protection tube 10 and the thermoelectricity is measured. The temperature is displayed on a meter or the like connected via the connection terminal 3 for comparison. On the other hand, the immersion heater 27 is energized at that temperature to heat the molten metal in the greenhouse 26 to an appropriate temperature, and the molten metal is pumped out from the pumping chamber 28.

The electrostatic charge in the molten metal is captured by the ceramic vertical protection tube 10, transmitted to the stainless hollow vertical pipe 5 through the stainless connection socket 7, and grounded through the ground connection cord 4. Therefore, the vertical protection tube 10 also serves as a conventionally known earth rod i, and eliminates a volume defect. Since the vertical protection tube 10 is made of ceramics, it is not damaged even when immersed in the molten metal. Since the screw 6 at the lower end of the hollow vertical pipe 5 is screwed into the screw hole 8 at the upper portion of the connection socket 7, the connection between the hollow vertical pipe 5 and the connection socket 7 is simple and reliable, and does not come off. Of course, the mechanical connection is also perfect. The Ni base paste 16 or the stainless spring 1 is inserted into the insertion hole 12 of the cylindrical portion 13 on the lower side of the connection socket 7.
7 is inserted and then the upper end 11 of the vertical protection tube 10 is inserted, and the stainless set screw 15
Since the vertical protection tube 10 is fixed by screwing, the connection socket 7 and the vertical protection tube 10 are not only electrically completely connected, but also mechanically completely connected. Further, in the present invention, the temperature of the molten metal is measured by forming a recess 18 for fastening in the upper end 11 of the vertical protection tube 10 with which the tip of the stainless set screw 15 abuts in the apparatus. The positioning is easy, and the setscrew 15 is joined without being tightened so strongly that the vertical protection tube 10 is not damaged by overtightening.
