Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the Pt-Pd material without discoloration or the like and its manufacturing method where generation of pin holes and cracks is prevented, and the hardness is improved while the properties of the Pt-Pd alloy is maintained. CONSTITUTION:The Pt-Pd material for the ornament is obtained by mixing 0.01-1wt.% in total of at least one kind of element of Ca, Ti, Zr, Hf and the rare earth metal (especially, Y, Sm, Eu and Er) into the Pt-Pd alloy, especially, 5-20wt.% Pt-Pd alloy. The alloy where at least one kind of element of 0.01-1wt.% in total of Ca, Ti, Zr, Hf and the rare earth metal (especially, Y, Sm, Eu and Er) is added to the Pt, and 5-20wt.% Pd are melted together, and cast to manufacture the Pt-Pd alloy for the ornament.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, as the above Pt-Pd-based material for ornaments, an alloy composed of Pd 10 to 15 wt% and the balance Pt has been used.
It has been widely used because it has hardness while maintaining the quality of Pt, has a color tone comparable to that of pure Pt, has good processability, and can suppress the price. However, the above Pt
The Pd10 to 15 wt% alloy has a problem that Pd easily absorbs oxygen during casting, so that the oxygen concentration becomes high and pinholes and cracks occur. Further, the hardness was insufficient at Hv 120 to 130, and it was not possible to meet the demand for higher hardness.

A Pt-Pd-based material for ornaments according to the present invention for solving the above-mentioned problems comprises a Pt-Pd-based alloy containing at least 1 of Ca, Ti, Zr, Hf and a rare earth element. It is characterized by containing 0.01 to 1 wt% in total of various kinds of elements. The Pt-Pd alloy is
It is preferable that Pd is 5 to 20 wt% and the balance is Pt. The rare earth element is preferably Y, Sm, Eu or Er. The method for producing a Pt-Pd-based material for ornaments according to the present invention comprises: an alloy in which at least one element of Ca, Ti, Zr, Hf, and a rare earth element is added to Pt in a total amount of 0.01 to 1 wt% and Pd of 5 to 20 wt%. And is melted and cast.

In this manufacturing method, the rare earth element is
Y, Sm, Eu and Er are preferred. In the Pt-Pd-based material for ornaments of the present invention, the Pt-Pd-based alloy contains C
The reason for containing at least one kind of element of a, Ti, Zr, Hf, and rare earth elements in a total amount of 0.01 to 1 wt% is P during casting.
In order to suppress the inhalation of oxygen of d and to reduce the oxygen concentration by performing a deoxidizing action, to prevent the occurrence of pinholes and cracks and to improve the hardness, the effect is obtained if it is less than 0.01 wt%. If it exceeds 1 wt%, the workability will deteriorate.

The above Pt-Pd alloy contains 5 to 20 wt% of Pd,
The reason why the balance is preferably Pt is that when the Pd content is less than 5 wt%, it has the characteristics of the Pt-Pd alloy, that is, it has hardness while maintaining the quality of Pt, and has a color tone comparable to that of pure Pt.
Moreover, the property of good workability cannot be maintained,
This is because if the content exceeds wt%, the quality, color tone, gloss, etc. of Pt as a decorative article will be impaired. The rare earth element is Y, Sm,
The reason why Eu and Er are preferable is that, among the rare earth elements, these elements remarkably suppress the absorption of oxygen in Pd during casting and have an excellent deoxidizing effect.

As described above, according to the method for producing a Pt-Pd-based material for decorative articles of the present invention, 0.01 to 1 wt% of Ca, Ti, Zr, Hf and at least one kind of rare earth element is added to Pt in total. Since the alloy and Pd 5-20 wt% are melted and cast,
At the time of casting, at least one element of Ca, Ti, Zr, Hf, and a rare earth element acts to suppress the uptake of oxygen by Pd, and the deoxidizing action is performed to reduce the oxygen concentration, resulting in pinholes and cracks. The occurrence is prevented and the hardness is improved,
It is possible to easily and efficiently manufacture a material for a decorative article, which is free from discoloration and maintains the characteristics of the Pt-Pd alloy.
