脂のフィルムを密着させ、内部の生分解性樹脂を保護し
た。このようにして作った板材(1cm×1cm、厚さ
3mm)を生分解性プラスチックを分解することが知ら
れているシュードモナス属の細菌を培養している容器に
入れたところ、図1に示すとおり、時間の経過と共に生
菌数が減少し、試験開始後20日間で細菌は完全に死滅
した。また、野ざらしの状態で廃棄された場合を想定し
て、同様の試料を黒土の上に放置して分解量を厚さの変
化として記録した。その結果、図2に示すとおり、最初
の1週間で光分解により表層が分解して消失し、次いで
生分解性樹脂の部分が60日で初期厚さの66%まで減
